I think it looks fantastic!!! Mind you I never read the books, but ever since the trailers came out all I've been seeing is "that looks nothing like the book". Name one Stephen King movie that has followed the book 100%. Go ahead I'll wait.

That looked terrible! Typical fantasy/action shlock and a complete butchering of the source material. What the hell is wrong Stephen King? Why does he allow this kind of crap to happen?

It's looking good but I can see it not doing well. Audiences are idiots these days.

I think I'm even more excited about this than IT. I'm biased though because of Idris Elba. But I love sci-fi/fantasy.

Name one Stephen King movie that has followed the book 100%. Go ahead I'll wait. Name any movie that followed it's book 100% for that matter. Sometimes they follow the book rather closely (Harry Potter, LotR, Maze Runner, Hunger Games, etc) yet other times they follow books rather loosely (The Scorch Trials, etc) and Hollywood does have a rather hit and miss success rate when it comes to adapting Stephen King.

Most of what I saw on the trailer does not look familiar, which means they probably weren't in the book. That said, it does look awesome and I'm still going to watch it. I guess this will be one of those "don't compare it to the books if you want to enjoy it" kind of movies.
I do have to say that I'm extremely happy they showcased Roland's skill in fast reloading his guns.

Keep in mind I've never read any of the books. Going off of this trailer I'll likely rent it on my Xbox or Red Box it when it comes out. I'm really having trouble buying into Matthew McConaughey as this devil like character. I see the trailer and I feel like that role should be played by somebody else, maybe Walton Goggins.

I keep picturing Tom Hiddleston in the role but that's probably because I'm used to seeing him as Loki.

This movie is NOT based on the cult book and it great story, this is a sequel to the last book in the series. I mean what the fuck ?! Imagine Peter Jackson made a sequel to The Return of the King and not a movie based on the incredible Lord of the Rings trilogy. What was Sony thinking ?

If I hadn't read the books the trailer would have nothing to grab my attention.

It's almost like some producer read the book, thought it was an awesome story to be made into a movie, but then was too lazy to actually try and adapt the book. So instead they decided to get the concept instead and just create their own story.

Looks rubbish and Idris Elba seems miscast, maybe? Only read the first book years ago, but didn't he have a hat?
