I meet a lot of people who are depressed or suffering in some way. Many of them seem to think they're different in some way from 'normal' people. I'm sorry, there are no 'normal' people. Sure some depressions are biological and can be treated with medications, but IMO some low mood and doubt about life is part of being human. Everyone suffers. Even the rich man who gets everything he wants will invariably suffer, since it's only a matter of time before all material things are lost upon death. You can improve your coping skills, you can practice meditation so your mind isn't lost in anxiety like a skittish rabbit, but you will suffer in some way. HAVE A NICE DAY!!!

That's why we have medication, Sam. You can medicate on anything; dope, movies, Facebook. You can even medicate on the Canticles of St. Francis. The only thing I medicate on is alcohol, and yet I've never been so drunk that I thought it was 1) real, and 2) permanent. Actually, I don't know if you meant to type meditation instead of medication, but I thought it might be a good opportunity to run with it.

You have sharp eyes Erjen, I'll change it. Thank you. You made excellent points too. People suffer much more when they think they're real or they fail to completely accept impermanence.

As a higher order of life I see voluntary suffering and the acceptance of involuntary suffering as part of the deal. If something is worth having, it should be worth suffering for.

It beats being a dung beetle... Have you seen the shit that they have to go through? But I thought they ate dung? Isn't it like you or I rolling around a massive ball of chocolate?
