wouldn't it cost 60 bucks or more for four tickets? sounds like a bargain to me not if you go to $5 matinee

I just think people should stop supporting Disney at this point. Don’t be expecting this to be the only movie on their service to do this. If enough people pay the 37.00 there’s a good chance Disney will continue to do this. Heck Netflix may do something similar. For this reason I’ll continue supporting theaters. If Disney+ continues to go down this route they’ll lose subscribers. I’ve already read people have cancelled their subscriptions due to this decision. Can’t say I blame them!!! i mean they did just make it up to 60.9 m but i see your point. That won’t last. People are PISSED!!!

A desperate last ditch attempt to cash in on something that I doubt was ever going to be that popular to begin with. Never should have even been made in the first place. Just another studio phony virtuous pandering to help boost another female director with a girl power slanted tale. Would these women directors betray themselves if they made a movie that was about boy power? I suppose I'd be wasting my breath if I pointed out that these are probably the main movies female directors are being offered. Or if I gave examples of female directors who did make "boy power" movies, such as a Kathryn Bigelow who built a whole career out of them.

Now, probably not. I think people underestimate just how popular Mulan is among women. I mean women really fucking love Mulan and it was going to make a ton of money. Of course Disney wants to make as much as they can out of a bad situation. To me the biggest takeaway is Disney's lack of confidence in the future. The fact that they're doing this speaks volumes about the future of theaters.

It’s thematic and where these female filmmakers interests lie. Bigelow is an exception. Male directors do chick flicks too. No one said they didn't, only you are suggesting the reverse. Penny Marshall made Big and Awakenings. Ava DuVurnay made Selma. Sofia Coppola made Somewhere. Marielle Heller made A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood. Lynne Ramsay made You Were Never Really Here. Catherine Hardwicke made Lords of Dogtown. Kimberly Peirce made Stop-Loss. Patty Jenkins attempted to make Thor 2 but got shitcanned and replaced with a guy. The co-director of Captain Marvel made Half Nelson and Sugar. The director of this made McFarland, USA. That's practically every mainstream female director I can think of.

Also don’t forget this is a movie about China. No one really wants to see a movie about China. This movie was probably gonna bomb if it came out now. Trust me this means NOTHING for theaters. Also let’s not forget that the actress who plays Mulan said some STUPID ASS SHIT months back that made people boycott this movie. Also this isn’t a kid’s movie this is rated Pg-13. This movie was going to BOMB and I was one of those people willing to go see it in theaters. But Disney has made some very odd choices for this movie. It’s not for the fans because it’s not a musical, doesen’t have the characters people knew and loved and seems to stray very far from the original story. It’s not for kids because the movie is pg-13. So again who was this movie made for? ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) China? Sure is looking that way.

HA HA HA HA . All Disney cares about for the big screen right now is the Avatar sequels and the new Star Wars movies.

Not that I want to defend Disney, but for a family that is still cheaper than theatre prices.
In any case, I am boycotting it. From the previews there is ZERO diversity in it! I can't believe Disney is releasing a movie with ZERO diversity in 2020!

Whatchoo mean? They got a Hawaiian actor in it. I'm just glad to see Jason Scott Lee in something again.

Even a proper ticket cost you less then 20 bucks, and you get the big screen and all.
I wouldn't even buy the blu ray for that price.
Are that that desperated or are they just dumb and greedy.
It's economy for the middle school: the higher the price, the lesser buy. Such calculations are a popular examples for mixed quadratic equations in math - at least over here.

And those that are, are largely interested in their own plight. They are not neutral enough. What therefore? I just rattled off a dozen female directors.

A dozen.... ![](https://s26.postimg.cc/tek3suwt5/laugh.gif) I am not exactly clear on the point you are wanting to make. 11. ![](https://s26.postimg.cc/7r8xnn0k9/roll.gif) You said it'd kill a woman to make a movie about men. My point is that is utter horseshit.

$30 is too much to watch a movie on TV. I don't care how you slice it. It doesn't matter if taking a family of 4 to the theater costs more than $30. I go alone and my theater only costs $7.50 and I don't buy the overpriced popcorn and soda either. But none of that matters even if it did cost $30 at the theater it shouldn't cost $30 at home because home is not the theater, it's your TV. Back when we rented movies from Blockbuster they didn't charge based on taking a family of 4 to the theater. I can buy a DVD for $20 and show it to my family a hundred times over the next 10 years if I want.
So, no I'm not paying $30 to watch a movie on TV or even worse on a computer or tablet.

Lol, that's insane. This is one of my most anticipated films of the year and NO WAY am I paying that for a rental. I do hope it gets released to the drive-in, that's the only way I'll see it before the price comes down, and I'd actually prefer the drive-in to the theater now anyway.

I don't know if this movie was released under the title Unparalleled Mulan, which is about a pretty Chinese girl performing acrobatics and whacking all and sundry with whatever comes to hand, but if it is it has been on Pirate Bay for the last couple of days. So it rather looks as though the distributors have outsmarted themselves
