I loved it. I thought it was better than Force Awakens.

Been a tough one for me since I saw it. Not the biggest fan and it's sadly not gonna be one I re-watch as much as my favorite Star Wars movies.

I really liked Rogue One, but I don't like Gareth Edwards' directing style. His style is tedious and his characters come off as dull. Say what you will about The Force Awakes, but I'm more invested on those characters than the ones in Rogue One.

I was honestly bored for most of the movie. Yeah when we got to the Saw Gerrera and Jyn Erso scene near the middle I was shocked to admit to myself that I was bored by the movie and it took me a while to actually believe it.

Say what you will about The Force Awakes, but I'm more invested on those characters than the ones in Rogue One. Could that be because going into Rogue 1 it was pretty much common sense the characters wouldn't survive and with TFA there's still more story to be told? I agree with being more invested, but for me a lot of it has to do with the reasons I just stated.

Especially in Godzilla. The guy focuses too much on plot than the characters themselves. It's almost annoying, really. Because the guy thinks his directing a masterpiece, but the reality is, he's not.

I find it to be more enjoyable by not worrying about directors and care more about the synopsis of the film. That's not to see a bad director can't fuck up a great concept

This was a great addition to the Star Wars movie catalog. I enjoyed Rogue One, much more than The Force Awakens.
Loved the characters. Jyn was gritty and tough but vulnerable at the right times in the story. Saw Guerrera was a cameo character but Forrest Whittaker played him convincing as a half crazy/half crazy like a fox Rebellion extremist. Chirrut was great as the blind Force follower. And his partner Baze as the Rebel with the disposition and hardware of a mercenary. Casian Andor was the complex co-leader.
I like how Rogue One connects to the start of A New Hope and expands on the original Star Wars! But also expanded on the very imaginative galaxy of Star Wars, and did it well. I was okay with the way that the pacing of the movie gradually builds. Wow! The second half of the movie... Star Wars at it's best!

Yes, I love force awakens and was invested in the characters but rogue one had better action, a lot more originality, and darth vader. It's also more engaging. But this is just my opinion.

Rubbish. Still sitting at a 3/10 for me over on IMDB. Dull film, dull aesthetics, dull characters, dreary muddled plot. Not a single likeable character in sight unless you count Vader or CGI Leia.

Action was great and riveting. But the characters were lacking. Hurts the film for me.

I have conflicted feelings about Rogue One, myself. With Star Wars I'm always looking to have a very specific itch scratched, and Rogue One was (intentionally) very different from the rest of the series. I appreciate what it did and it did it very well. I just didn't like it as much as some others did.

A 3 even with your dullness seems a bit harsh. You hated a 3 movie. Did you hate Rogue One or junt found it lacking?

I personally love Rogue 1. For me it's basically a War film with Star Wars characters. I'll get shot for saying this but Rogue 1 is my favourite Star Wars film. I've seen it 7 times in cinema (4 times IMAX, 3 times normal). I can't wait to see what the special features are on the Blu Ray Release.
I only seen the Force Awakens once in cinema and I watched it recently and again, just doesn't do it for me. Might be something to do with I love the original Empire and not digging the New Order. Hopefully the Last Jedi changes that.
I'm not looking forward to the new Han Solo film though. There's only one Harrison Ford. They should have opted for the Stand Alone Boba Film first or Vader tracking and killing the remaining Jedi's after Revenge of the Sith. I can't see Han Solo film making a Billion

So I'm not alone happy days! I thought I mighta got banned for saying Rogue 1 is my favourite I used to love Revenge of the Sith but having watched the entire series with ma woman recently I forgot how much CGI is actually in it which is a shame but its definitely exciting times to be a Star Wars fan again. We can't get enough of it Return of the Jedi could have been the best if it wasn't for those fuckin Ewoks! Out of all the Star wars the only moments that gave me Goosebumps was the Luke V Darth in ROTJ and Darth at the end of Rogue 1.
