I love all the Star Trek series, but I like Deep Space Nine the most.
Since it is set for the most part on the space station it is more character and story driven than the others and has a lot of story arcs. It doesn't rely on spaceships flying through space and action sequences to keep you interested. It depends on the writing and characters to keep the stories interesting.

VOY. But I also love TNG and DS9. Will get to TOS once I can't stand rewatching the first three. Enterprise sucked.

The Original Series was definitely my favorite, however I quite liked NEXT GENERATION and ENTERPRISE. Never saw the Animated Series, and didn't care much for the other two series. PS: Does anyone know if there will be another way to view the new DISCOVERY series, without having to 'stream' it? I'm not even sure what streaming is, I don't totally understand this idea of having TV shows from CBS, that aren't on CBS/TV, and I'm about as good with technology as Captain America was with the Helicarrier when they first woke him up. So the idea of having some computery thingie to watch STAR TREK is a bit off-putting. (Yes, I'm a low-tech Trekkie, most people don't believe we exist, like Trekkies who like Star Wars and Marvel fans who enjoyed the DCMU movies. )

Well I used to hate Enterprise but after multiple viewings, it's my favorite tied with TNG. I happen to like all of the shows... They are not identical, so there are different reasons to like each one. I know that many people dislike Enterprise for many reasons... Some claim as a prequel series, it contradicts what the other shows claimed happened. Not really. While I would agree that the show did bend cannon many times, it didn't come right out and break it... The older shows never said that something DID NOT happen in the year 2151, it said it happened "over", about, approximately, or "around" 200 years ago. Those terms are used as approximate measurements. No one says 99 years ago. They say about 100 years ago... Even before Enterprise, the difference in physical appearance of the Klingons from TOS to TNG proved to be a problem. On DS9, they hinted at the issue. But Enterprise explained it... The Ferengi were encountered by Enterprise. But if you watch the show, the word Ferengi was not used in any dialog with the Enterprise Crew. Even if it were, Enterprise takes place around 200 years before TNG. It's very possible that Picard and crew didn't remember everything from their history classes... Enterprise encountered the Borg from debris from the Sphere seen destroyed in Star Trek: First Contact. But, when the Borg contacted the Enterprise to tell them they would be assimilated, The Borg did not utter the words: "We Are The Borg". As far as the Enterprise crew knew, they were just some unnamed cybernetic creatures. Guinan was rescued by the Enterprise B after the Borg destroyed her homeworld. But no one saw what the Borg looked like. And on VOYAGER, 7of9 said she was a Borg for 18 years. DO THE MATH. She was assimilated before the Enterprise D was launched. How did her parents know the the Borg were Cybernetic creatures? It's my opinion, that most Star Trek fans don't know what they are talking about if they think Cannon is a problem. Now, I have heard comments wondering why so many Enterprise aliens were never seen in the other shows. I'll agree, that it is strange. But, Space is Vast. Even at the end of DS9 and VOYAGER, those crews were still encountering new aliens. It is not unreasonable to assume that there are just some parts of the Alpha Quadrant where aliens live, that the other ships were not exploring. Or as seen in all the shows, some alien cultures clearly did not want to be friend and allies, and probably never joined the federation. I think most Star Trek fans are too hard on Enterprise, mainly because it is a prequel. Many people have difficulties being open minded when the rules of their favorite shows are bent. I am not going to say that Enterprise is my favorite of the shows, because as I said before, there are different reasons to like each one... And to be honest, there are times where I find the 24th century shows to be a bit "perfect". It seems like nothing ever goes wrong in the technology or the lives of these people, unless they encounter some great force, like the Borg. That is one of the reasons why I like Enterprise. They had no idea what to expect when exploring the Galaxy, and many times they were nearly destroyed... It was nice to think that they were in some real danger, and had to work very hard to overcome their problems. When did anyone in the 24th century, have to spend a week, cramped in a Warp Nacelle to deal with some spacial storm? Another reason why I liked Enterprise, was seeing the crew wearing ball caps, and cooking real food, and talking about knocking T'Pol on her Ass. It didn't feel like the show was set to far into the future. with a bunch of people who were nothing like who we are today. But the thing I like most about the show is how everything was NEW to them. Everyone was afraid to use the Transporter. Wouldn't you be if the technology was just a couple of years old? But, There was one conversation featured in the Pilot Episode which still excites me when I think about it: Trip: "Warp 4.5 next Tuesday..." Archer: "Neptune & back in six minutes!" Think about that for a minute. Right Now, it takes us over six months to send a probe to Mars... & It takes me longer than that to drive to Walmart. Yes, the other ships in the other shows could travel faster than that. But what is Warp 8? What does that really mean?. Except for knowing that was "fast", I just could not relate to that. The only time something like, that was discussed, that was ever as impressive as the Warp 4.5 comment, was when Tom Paris of VOYAGER flew the Shuttlecraft Cochrane at Warp 10... "Infinite Velocity". Which meant occupying every point in the universe at the same time. At least I could understand what that meant. ENTERPRISE get's my vote, because it really is: "Boldly Going Where No Man Has Gone Before".

What is your Favorite "STAR TREK" TV Series ? Although I like most of the " Classic Star Trek Universe / TV Series Saga " of shows these are the ones in order I really liked over the years : 1. Star Trek: Voyager 1995 - 2001( IMPO - I enjoy the whole " crew lost in Delta Quadrant Storyline " and their brave struggles to survive all alone out there also with it's unique characters they meet along the way too ) . 2. Star Trek: The Next Generation 1987 - 1994( IMPO - An excellent " sort of spin-off " to the original Star Trek with it's own unique crew and characters too ) . 3. Star Trek: The Original Series 1966 - 1969 ( IMPO - Even though this show has way less seasons than all the others it's still an unforgettable sci fi classic indeed also with a memorable cast too - it's the one that started it all ) . 4. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine 1993 - 1999 ( IMPO - Another interesting set of crew and characters also a space station nearby a wormhole - quite intriguing ) . 5. Star Trek: Enterprise 2001 - 2005 ( IMPO - An interesting view of the first Enterprise crew 100 years before the crew of the well known - Kirk's Enterprise ) . Thanks so much anthonyrocks for your subject post .
