I don’t usually post about TV shows, but I thought this was something I might as well ask here. I’ve seen almost nothing but praise for the Harley Quinn animated series, not just from critics, but from online circles in general. It has a pretty high score on IMDb, and whenever I hear people talking about it, it always seems to be in a positive light. Is it really that good, though?
For the record, I’m not interested in watching it. I strongly dislike everything to do with Harley Quinn, and I wasn’t especially impressed by what I saw from the show’s style of humor. I’m just wondering what people here have to say about it, now that season 2 (and possibly the series as a whole?) has wrapped up.

I loved it. Only checked it out because I adore Poison Ivy and the initial teaser was cute, and it turned out to be one of the best shows I've seen this year.
I've always utterly despised Harley too, but between this show and BOP I'm a wee bit obsessed with the character now. Actually ordered a bunch of Harley comics this week lol. Totally on the bandwagon.

Totally on the bandwagon. I just can’t push myself to like the character. Even ignoring how little I care for her personality and her backstory, I feel that she completely ruins the Joker on a fundamental level. Still, I guess it’s great that other people can find some enjoyment out this stuff.

I thought it was overkill at first too, but I have to say it’s pretty funny. I give them props for them using more obscure characters like Kiteman or Queen of Fables or Doctor Psycho.

Yes. Makes The Venture Bros. look like Sesame Street at times even.

I’m just wondering what people here have to say about it, now that season 2 (and possibly the series as a whole?) has wrapped up. I watched numerous episodes from Season 1 last month and didn't like a single one. The crude humour and ultra-violence is too obvious. There's no real intelligence behind it. It's frank, but it's not clever. And I say this as HUGE fan of South Park and its style of crude but clever satire. The character of Harley Quinn herself is annoying throughout. She's intentionally over-sexualised and the voice acting (from the actress who plays Penny in The Big Bang Theory) leaves a lot to be desired. I think the character worked well as a Joker sidekick in Batman: The Animated Series, but they've unwisely turned her into something she was never intended to be. She's basically nothing more than a female Deadpool at this point. Just my two cents.

I haven't seen it. It seems like yet another show pointlessly using violence because DC still thinks that's how they're supposed to compete with Marvel.

I'm only a few episodes in, but I'm enjoying it, mainly for the exaggerated parodies of DC characters (ie Clayface as a struggling actor). I'm not a giant Harley Quinn fan myself outside of TAS, but she's really just the glue holding the show together. It reminds me of The Lego Batman Movie, only with a lot more violence and profanity.
