OK maybe that's too harsh as it was still an entertaining movie, but I watched it recently for the first time after watching and enjoying the first two a lot a few years ago and this one felt like a decent step down. Felt like most of the movie was just people yelling at each other. The comedy also seemed to overwhelm at times. The first two did a lot better at balancing the action and comedy I feel. It has the same crew as the first two for the most part but it didn't have Stuart Baird editing. Maybe the lack of balance has to do with his absense
still not a bad movie but the first two were almost in a different league. Wonder if 4 is better.

Nothing went wrong. I think it's good even though it's not as good as the first two. What was fresh was becoming formula, but the formula was still good enough.

I like all 4 Lethal Weapon movies, but 4 is usually considered the weakest. My main issue with Lethal Weapon 3 is the last 20 minutes or so. It has the weakest villain and action scenes of the franchise, but it makes up for it with Rene Russo and the chemistry between Riggs and Murtough is still top notch.
Lethal Weapon 4 gets a bit more silly than the first 3, but it has some excellent action scenes, a good villain and some of the funniest scenes in the franchise.
I like 3 and 4 about equally.

3 felt more like a spoof of the first two than an actual continuation. As others have mentioned, it had a weak villain, the comedy was too over-the-top at times and felt forced, and Leo wasn't utilized well in this entry at all. That being said, and while it was definitely a major step down from the first two, it's still not a bad movie. I did feel that 4 was a nice rebound and closer to the first two in tone and I liked how the movie ended, it was a nice way to close out the franchise. My rankings: 2 1 4 3

Like many movie series, things took a dive with the third film. Lethal Weapon is no exception.

It's okay but remains my least favorite in the series. The main villain wasn't that interesting.

Like many movie series, things took a dive with the third film. Lethal Weapon is no exception. I do feel Elm St. 3 was tops though. I prefer it to the original. Yes, there are exceptions like Elm Street 3, Toy Story 3, Indy and the Last Crusade.
