Jaws: The Revenge is a big one. There hasn't been a film in this series for over 30 years and that says something about this movie. It was a terrible movie, yes. But I just get the feeling that there wouldn't have been more Jaws movies regardless of how The Revenge turned out. Eh, I always saw it that way. What makes you say that?

It would have been good if they left it at 2, that would have been a perfect ending. T3 was ok. I've not seen the others. I can't bring myself to watch Genisys! It looks so cartoonish compared to its predecessors. I'm not too excited about Dark fate, but I'll give it a watch out curiosity. Saw Genisys. Itโs bad, but itโs more on the forgettable side. Donโt care about seeing Dark Fate in the slightest. Eh, I liked DF. T3 was the franchise killer. It set the precedent that you could make weak sequels with less and less of the original players that made the franchise work. Said players were more involved with DF to varying degrees, but by then it was too late.

The Last Jedi, it didn't kill a franchise , but seemed to derail anything they set up in the last movie as well as tie up everything enough that another movie was not really needed, but it gave film schools plenty to study on how not to plan a trilogy

Imo the audience killed that franchise.

Imo the audience killed that franchise. TLJ is a DISGRACE. Awful writing, awful storytelling, forcing poisonous politics in the film, and the bastardization of beloved characters like Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa.
