I've got a cleaning scheduled for next week. I'm thinking I should cancel it because of Covid but I'd also like to just get it over with.
Is it worth the risk though? I don't think I want my mouth open for that long in a public place!

If they practice safe cleansing between patients, the risk may be reasonable.

Yes, it's safe, it's very safe, it's so safe you wouldn't believe it.

I went to my dentist's office for a cleaning in July, and was perfectly safe doing so because they had taken so many precautions. When they reopened, they actually sent a letter to each patient explaining their detailed safety procedures.
If you didn't get a letter from your dentist, you should call their office and ask what new safety procedures they have instituted, and what you need to do differently as a patient.
I'm sure any reputable dentist will be able to tell you that. But if they are somehow still operating as before the pandemic, you should cancel your appointment and get a new dentist.
