In my neighborhood there are numerous messages done in "sidewalk chalk," and cheerful pictures/designs appearing in windows. At first I thought it was because the kiddos were not in school. But, some of them are quite sophisticated and suggest adult involvement.
The sidewalk efforts include messages about; "Black Lives Matter!," "Stay Well," "Be Happy." "Try Wine - It Helps." There are a lot of them that feature reminders/pleas for people to wear masks. One house had most of the squares of the sidewalk decorated with colorful chalk pictures of faces wearing masks, with each mask having a fun picture, or an interesting design.
There are lots of hearts, puffy clouds, smiley faces and rainbows in windows. The buildings in this neighborhood are mostly apartments or flats that are built adjacent to one another, without yards in between. A couple of blocks from me is a huge rainbow that spans the inside front windows of 3 houses. It looks like it's fashioned from crepe paper. That took a lot of effort, coordination and cooperation ... planning, measuring, construction and installation.
Every time I go to a store, or just wander around, there's something new. It' really uplifting.
Has anyone else seen this trend?
