in the Big Trouble in Little China commentary, John Carpenter asks him if he ever had a bad experience on a movie, and he mentions a movie that was a location picture, away from the family, and other main actor was having a rough time. Doesn't same the name of the movie though. Wonder what it is. The commentary was recorded in early 2001

Takes place off the coast of a tropical island if I am remembering correctly and Martin Short is co-lead.

What does he mean by location film? I know that there was some drama on the set of Tombstone, where Kurt Russell basically took over as director. Maybe Stargate? Mel Gibson was having a lot of depression around the time Tequila Sunrise was made.
