Been trying to slog through this over the past few weeks. Something to have on in the background while doing something else. I have been interested in what the culture and technology in the region were like in that period. Not sure how much of what's in the show is real-to-life. The mystical elements are a turn-off for me. (Would be fine if this show was just one of a number of shows set in the same period, where the others didn't have the supernatural elements. Unfortunately, this seems to be one of the only shows there is at all.) I also don't like several of the characters, and between The Walking Dead and this show, not the hugest David Morrissey fan.
Anyone else even watched this show?

Last two episodes of season 1 were pretty good. They should have made more of the show like those two.

Season 2 was better than season 1. Story turned a little too much like the last episodes of Lost.
Good performances from Annabel Scholey, Nikolaj Lie Kaas, Laura Donnelly, and Gershwyn Eustache.

I tried get into it but found it really try-hard and GoT-lite.

I'm watching this now and it's stupidly funny. It starts as an apparently serious, dramatic series but humour creeps in and saves a story that's not meant to be taken at too much depth.
IMDb categorises the series as "action", "drama" and "fantasy" but it really is a comedy.
"If I've learned one thing, it's that people talk nonsense". That's a quote from "the Chosen One" of the story.
Then the obviously fake goddess tells about the Big Bang: "In the beginning, there was only fire. Then fire spread through the darkness to the four corners of the universe."
The whole thing is hilarious.
