It's not so much of a "If" but "when" It took over a decade for Avatar to be dethroned, maybe it will be the same for Endgame? Who knows? It definitely won't be anytime soon, especially with the ongoing pandemic. Movie theaters are on life support now, so I’m willing to bet that EG will keep its record for a very long time, if not permanently.

Because most of what you said is mentally deficient drivel, X-Men and Batman Begins were stand alones not ocnnected to a universe...no both were the entry films for intended franchises, this is why Begins ends with Batman getting the Joker card despite this being retconned in the following movie and X-Men ends with the tease of Logan going to discover his past, Mystique pretending to be Kelly and Magneto alive, not dead, but alive in prison, with X-Men retroactively now belonging in the most ill conceived "connected" universe among all the major film universes. The there is nothing it does that X-Men and Begins didn't do, how about kill a main protagonist and retire the other? neither Begins or X1 do this, but Endgame does, sure X3 and Logan also do this in terms of major CBM's, maybe you can say Daredevil but not really because Elektra isn't built up as a character over 8 films like Tony or Jean were, Scott really wasn't sadly. The artistic shit is opinion YOU see no artistry in the movies and YOU don't think they have merit due to this, well fucking done whoopie your opinion, have it and shut the fuck up shitting on these films just because of it you pathetic cock smear, others do see this stuff in these movies, some love the story of Tony and Cap, MOST actually admire the VFX in the movies for the most part, and guess what the shit we go eh that looks bad is the minority of effects in the movies because the movies use just so much special effects, what got near unanimous praise in this and IW? the CGI of Thanos that they made the character feel like flesh and blood when he's a 8+ft tall purple alien, other people see merit in these movies you do not, and other people have a linguistic and reading comprehension level higher than a pre-schooler so I wonder whose opinion matters more? the people with functioning brains who can prove it by having valid conversations, or your chimp tickling arse? Avatar struggles to be remembered because the only thing it had going for it was it's visual effects at the dawn of the 3D renaissance, and it's crown as top of the box office mostly due to the near $1b in additional revenue it milked from people due to I-Max and 3D, where as Endgame sits as the conclusion of a 20+ movie series, it's marks the death and retirement of two main characters who had been with the audience for 11 and 8 years respectively over 9 and 7 movies and will likely stand as a major milestone in the MCU stories going forward, Endgame will be remembered due to it's legacy in and out of the cinematic universe, not just because it did great in the box office, and again like I said even if it loses the top of the box office crown it still holds numerous other records, so shove that up your arse you fucking dipshit. Xavier and Logan died in Logan like stark, all of them were retiring from the roles, so in a way it does not sound as tragic, Endgame did not do anything new. I hate to say this but who are the most that admire the VFX? only mcu fans. even the marvel fans of 10 years ago will tell you the VFX of Spiderman 2 or X2 is better. One of the biggest critics of Endgame is the VFX. Where did you think Scorsese got the notion they are theme parks cartoons? other marvel actors William dafoe and the first actor to play hulk called the cgi excessive. endgame is the highest grossing film that failed to even win an oscar for visual effects. please the vfx of endgame is some of the worst. its video game. to compare it to Avatar is insulting. also didn't james cameron slam the Avengers movies? wtf are u talking about. It may hold numerous records but loosing the number 1 spot is the most important and will matter. Who outside of the fans of X-Men and Spider-Man praise X2 and Spidey 2? to discount all the MCU fans opinion because they are MCU fans is a pathetic attempt to deny the truth, also no you fucking clown I never said Endgame did something new, I even said myself Logan and X3 did the same thing, so citing Logan to counter my point after misconstruing it is beyond fucking stupid it's flat out retarded. No one says Spidey 2 visuals are better than Endgames, Spider-Man clinging to a wall looks like shitty PS3 graphics now, Endgame has so holes in it's visuals but they mostly pass, at worst they are slightly off and draw the uncanny valley recoil, which is still better than the hey look at the old video game character inserted into this shot VFX of Spider-Man 2. Scorsese you fucking moron was refering to ALL CBM and block buster franchise films, look at the rest of what he says it is clear he isn't just citing the MCU, only brain dead fuckwits like yourself CHOOSE to think this is the case you simpleton. It's losing and lose not loose you inept shit stain, lose means you lost something, loose means the opposite of tight or it means free/unrestrained, as such you cannot loose something, you can set something loose or you can loosen something, you can be loose however, learn to fucking talk properly you ignorant cunt. Also I didn't compare it to Avatar you dipshit not in terms of quality or effects, but it's relevance, Avatar has spectical and box office going for it, now it no longer has the box office and the spectacle lost it's luster within 2 years of the films release, people who loved it then, they forgot about it, unlike Cameron's "less" successful films like Aliens or Terminator which stuck in the pop culture zeitgeist for decades, Cameron is pretty much the only cunt who truly cares about the franchise. Also Cameron shits on everything not his own, Wonder Woman is a hit and the character is praised as a icon of strong females, he bitches she isn't ugly enough, that his movies did it better, which BTW Sarah Connor is fucking hot imo so the Gal is too pretty stuff was so bullshit, and Endgame whooped his blue bitches arse so yeah the prick is going to be salty about it like he is everything else. Will not disagree with Marvel using excessive amounts of CGI but then again that's an actor preference I would assume because again the CGI in Ang Lee's Hulk or Raimi's Spidey films is piss poor compared to that of the MCU films, and it means over use not bad use or bad quality of the CGI, again you are fucking stupid, all elephants maybe grey but not all grey things are elephants, do you get what I am saying you chuckle fuck? over use, needless use, poor use, redundant use are all complaints you can use talking about CGI, but they mean separate things, not the same thing learn the difference you brainless used pair of soiled budgie smugglers.

Movie theaters are on life support now, so I’m willing to bet that EG will keep its record for a very long time, if not permanently. Also look at the difference between how Endgame made that coin and Avatar did, Endgame did so by being an event movie 11 years and 20 movies in the making for the most successful movie franchise in history, Avatar did so by making a third of it's money from being the first to capitalise on the new 3d tech, and forcing many places like China to only carry the movie in I-Max or 3D showing, upping the cost per ticket by 2 to 3 times the normal amount. Only things that reached over $2b in the last decade was TFA, the other biggest franchise in movie history after a 10 year hiatus, Disney acquisition and nostalgia out the arse, and IW, the lead up to Endgame which was the first act in the 10 year built up end of this stage in the MCU, a "big" movie wont do it, not without the luck of being the first to ride the wave of another 3D or new tech renaissance, which is kind of impossible to predict, could happen in the next 5 years or it could not no one knows really.

It has to be something familiar, with a lot of built up faith, and/or a director that so many people trust to deliver. Can't even see that happening with the next Avatar. But maybe that's why he's making so many at once.

Outside us comicbook movie fans, the first X-Men movie and Batman Begins ARE actually fading into obscurity. Ask the casual movie goer and they'll have a hard time remembering scenes from those movies. you would think so, except people still remember all the good they did for comic films. whereas MCU suffers from flavour of the week Disney playthings. The general populace? Not really. They remember Superman, Batman 89 and Spiderman. They'll remember the X-Men series as a whole but not specifically the first movie, and mostly they'll just remember Jackman as Wolverine and Stewart as Xavier. They'll remember TDK but not Batman Begins.

If Avatar 2 beats Endgame with some Cameron 5d movie. oh well.

Keep dreaming kid. Nothing wrong with having a dream. And so what if Avatar takes Endgame's record? It doesn't negate the fact that it once held it. Bitches are so supremely salty. thenolan - take Heart.

If Avatar 2 beats Endgame with some Cameron 5d movie. oh well. No because they don't do that as it is now anyway, people remember the greatest hits and the franchises in general, Endgame is memorable for it's spectacle if nothing else, the largest superhero battle of all times, it will also be remembered for the same reason Logan will be for the send off's for two of the most beloved actor/character pairings in CBM's, box office will not change that, "quality" which is subjective of the movies wont alter this, because how many Oscar movies get forgotten despite their "quality"? the MCU has memorable moments through out their movies, some more so than others and they will be remembered for those if nothing else, pretending otherwise and their memorability is tied ONLY to their box office records is dumb and ignorant, so typical of you as per usual.

Oh it's not Avatar2 beating Endgame that I was referring to as a dream. It's the fact that he thinks the MCU won't be remembered for storytelling but that somehow the Foxmen movies will be.
