The Color of Money got me interested in seeing The Hustler...which was a much better movie than The Color of Money.

Pretty much saw Fury Road before any of the other Mad Max movies...
Kinda saw them in pieces before but I never sat down and watched them all start to finish without any distractions.

I was in about 3-5 random 007 movies before I finally dove into Dr. No.

It's amazing that I'd go anywhere near Speed 1 after Speed 2 - even as a 7 year old, Speed 2 is a shitty movie - but I was immediately intrigued to find out one came out before.
Revenge of the Sith coming out got me to watch the original Star Wars trilogy. Likewise, the JJ Abrams Star Trek got me into the original series.

Lethal Weapon 3.
Let me explain.
I was not allowed to watch R-rated movies until I was 15 (with some exceptions), but my parents had a bunch of them on VHS. One week during the summer I watched all the R-rated movies we owned and one of those was Lethal Weapon 3. The reason we only had the 3rd movie is because it was recorded from HBO.
I rented the first 2 the day I was finally allowed to watch R-rated movies, because I had so much fun watching Lethal Weapon 3 years earlier.

I actually liked Speed 2 when I first watched it and I was 14 years old. I had already seen the original. Re-watched most of it a couple years ago and didn't even bother finishing it. Yikes!!!

The prologue to DRACULA PRINCE OF DARKNESS had me interested in seeing HORROR OF DRACULA (although I had an inkling of the film's finale via pictures from the Crestwood DRACULA Monster book).
I saw THE MUMMY'S HAND first, and then a few months later I saw THE MUMMY (although I had a good understanding of the plot and film via, again, the Crestwood THE MUMMY book).
In other cases, it was more of seeing the predecessor first but having a dim memory due to being very young. I had seen STAR TREK II THE WRATH OF KHAN first, but I barely remember it aside from the Torpedo arming scene and- most vividly remembered- the scary Ceti Eels scene. Then I saw STAR TREK III THE SEARCH FOR SPOCK, which made such an impression that I wanted to see STAR TREK THE MOTION PICTURE and- a little reluctantly- WoK. Both rewarded from these viewings.
Again, I saw STAR WARS and RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK first, and some memory of them, but as I grew up, my watching the sequels left a better memorial, and then I got a more cemented viewing of the predecessors.

I can’t remember any. All the big ones from the past four decades I watched in order. I did watch one Transformers and one Fast and Furious movie that were not the first in the series, but since I didn’t like them I had no interest in going back and watching the earlier ones.
There were many REMAKES that got me interested in watching the original. True Lies for example, which is a remake of a French movie. Another one was the recent gender-switched remake of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. When it came out, I found out that the one I thought was the original (with Michael Caine and Steve Martin) was actually a remake of an earlier one with David Niven and Marlon Brando.

The Road Warrior made me interested to see Mad Max. Same for Dawn of the Dead and Night of the Living Dead.

Aliens sparked my interest in Alien. That's one I could never imagine watching before its predecessor.
