Anyone looking forward to this? I'm not expecting much from it.

"Anyone looking forward to this?"
Arsenio Hall I'd imagine, he hasn't been in anything relevant in decades.

I watched the original recently. It was good, although I wonder if the sequel will be worthwhile.

I'm guessing that like most sequels it won't top the original, but I might check it out. It will be interesting to see where this so-called "long lost son" came from. I don't remember Akeem fooling around in America in the first movie.
I'm disappointed that Eriq La Salle (Darryl) and Allison Dean (Patrice) aren't returning.

Not unless Akeem "sowed his royal oats" in Zamunda with someone who later went to America prior to the events of the first film.

It could be funny. Eddie Murphy has his mojo back and him playing such a upbeat, fish out of water character could still be funny. As long as he is still upbeat and the movie focuses on his character more than anyone else.

There'd have been great potential had John Landis been directing, but Craig Brewer made 'Black Snake Moan' (2006) so the dude has talent. We know Arsenio Hall rides Eddie Murphy hard, so I expect him to bring the best out of his comedy compadre.

True, but at least John Amos is back at 80 years young. Brian De Palma would tell you he's a legend of Newark, New Jersey.

Not unless Akeem "sowed his royal oats" in Zamunda with someone who later went to America prior to the events of the first film. That's quite possible. Another explanation could be that when Akeem and Semmi were cruising all those nightclubs in New York, Akeem may have ended up getting really drunk at one time and had a one-night stand with one of the women. We shall see!

Hopefully they bring back McDowells, which is no way a plagiarism of McDonalds.
