The way Kevin Smith describes how producers want him to approach his He Man cartoon here is how Disney SHOULD have approached Star Wars. He says producer Ted Biaselli told him "Your instinct will be to make fun of He Man, wink, and make jokes but DON'T. Treat this like Shakespeare."
THAT is how Disney SHOULD have treated Star Wars, folks!

You know She-ra reboot on Netflix went super woke turning She-ra boyish and made her an actual lesbian and blackwashed characters. Keep your expectations low.

George Lucas should have taken it seriously as well. If he had he might not have needed to sell Star Wars to Disney in the first place.

I thought he needed the money. No. Lucas didn’t need to sell it. He knew he was getting too old to handle the production demands of any future live action SW films. And he wasn’t enthusiastic about making future tense stories in the franchise anyway. That’s the main reason he sold it.

And he wasn’t enthusiastic about making future tense stories in the franchise anyway. That’s the main reason he sold it. It also meant with him no longer having an active involvement, selling to Disney was a way to ensure the jobs of his employees and staff at LucasFilm would be safe.
