thoughts on these films?
Three Days of the Condor The Parallax View Black Sunday Eye of the Needle Ronin Blow Out The Train Scorpio To Catch a Thief Force 10 from Navarrone Runaway Train The Cassandra Crossing Dressed to Kill
I've only seen Blow Out (which I thought was good but let down by a bad Nancy Allen performance) and To Catch a Thief which of course is a classic Hitchcock thriller

Blow Out is decent and To Catch a Thief is good fluff. Three Days of the Condor and Black Sunday are solid '70s thrillers. Force 10 from Navarone is a real step down from the Guns of Navarone. Didn't see Scorpio, The Cassandra Crossing, or The Parallax View yet.

I second Politicidal's endorsement of Ronin and The Train, and I strongly recommend Eye of the Needle.

Three Days of the Condor- 8.5/10 The Parallax View - 8/10 Black Sunday - 7.5/10 Eye of the Needle - 7.5/10 Ronin - 8/10 Blow Out - 7/10 The Train - 8.5/10 Scorpio - 6/10 - see Burt Lancaster in blackface. To Catch a Thief - 8/10 Force 10 from Navarone - 3/10 - rubbish, but Barbara Bach gets naked, so.... Runaway Train - 8/10 The Cassandra Crossing - 5/10 a contender in the "so bad it's good" category. Highlight - Martin Sheen does handstands in his underwear. Dressed to Kill - 8/10

Scorpio --ok if not very memorable
Force 10 from Navarrone - I think Harrison Ford gives a better performance here than he does in Star Wars or the Indiana Jones films.
Runaway Train - quirky exploitation film with an arthouse veneer, thanks to Voight.

Dressed to Kill - 8.5/10, DePalma at his trashy best.

Finally got around to Hichcock's To Catch a Thief. Calling it fluff is an understatement. Grant and Kelly look fabulous and the locations are sumptuous, but the paper thin plot is stretched to absurdity and I figured out the culprit long before the final scene. One viewing is enough for me.
I've seen all of the others, except Scorpio and Ronin.
If any of them show up on tv and I have the time, I'll watch them again, particularly The Train, Runaway Train, Blow Out and Dressed to Kill.
Although I've seen them, I barely remember Three Days of the Condor and Eye of the Needle.

A few good picks there. Three Days of the Condor & The Parallax View are two of the best political/conspiracy thrillers ever. Would make a great double bill
