. . . Netflix's "Away" with Hillary Swank.
This show is so stupid and unrealistic.
In real life, NASA goes through hundreds of applicants, picking out the best candidates. They train together for months. There is a strict chain of command. Every crew member has complete confidence in their team, or they don't go. The crew on this show acts like they were thrown together last minute and never trained together. I couldn't get through the first episode. In the first 40 minutes, the crew is already divided and fighting like catty school girls, and talking mutiny.
In real life, the daughter would already know there is no turning back for family emergencies on Earth. But this daughter is begging her mother who's already in outer space to come home because the husband/father is in the hospital. Her exact words, "You can't seriously be thinking about continuing? Mom, I need you here." . . . So . . "Uh NASA, can we turn this rocket around, and abort the mission? My teenage daughter's an annoying self-entitled baby, who thinks the whole world spins for her." Yeah right.
The mission commander is fighting with other department heads of NASA, and other countries who have crew on the mission, about changing the crew leader on the mission already in outer space.
It's Netflix's "Another Life" all over again. Terrible.

That’s too bad. I was looking forward to it.
I couldn’t finish the first episode of “Another Life”.

Another Life is awful but at least it has a lot of eye candy. I wasn't planning on seeing Away. There's already too much stuff in my Netflix watchlist.

I guess "Another Life" and "Away" were made for women (and vagina men). Those who don't care about science, technology, the space program, realistic protocol, etc.
The same kind of people who like soap operas, "The Real Housewives of Wherever", "The Bachelor", MTV's "The Real Life", . . . etc.
They like drama, melodrama, cattiness, people talking incessantly about feelings and relationships, people fighting for no reason, . . . etc.
If you check out the user reviews on the original IMDb --- half the people actually liked these two shows.
