What would it be about?
For me, I would make a direct sequel to Halloween 4, and ignore the sequels of 5 and 6. But with that being, I would instead give the Michael Myers storyline a rest and make another anthology movie.
What about everyone else?

I mean there's all these various sequels and reboots that cancel each other out.

I wouldn’t make one. The series has run its course. The 2018 film would’ve at least made for an acceptable sendoff, but of course, they’re making sequels to that.

Continue directly off H20. Michael can still kill Laurie like in Resurrection, but have it be much later, and have Josh Hartnett reprise his role as her son and take on Michael towards the end.

In college I wrote an outline for a Halloween movie that just focused on the Cult of Thorn's activities at Smith Grove and basically every Hallows Eve Dr Wynn and the druids would do a ritual that possesses one of the inmates, and they'd go to Haddonfield to stalk and kill a local girl and stage it to look like a Myers killing, this would trigger Michael to come back every year out of jealousy. Unfortunately for Thorn, this particular year Michael got wise to their nonsense and came to Haddonfield a day early with the goal of stopping Thorn from triggering him and end his own reign of terror once and for all. It was meant to be the final Halloween movie and for Michael to be the anti-hero of the movie. It ended with Michael foiling the Thorn killing spree, evading capture and he just walked off into the night, it faded to the next morning and kids are playing in the woods and find Michaels mask laying on the ground, and they just toss it into the lake as if it means nothing to them. The halloween music began to play and we see cuts much like in the original movie of locations Michael Myers had been in, except this time its shots of the Smith Grove station wagon driving in different locations throughout the country, leaving the audience wondering if Myers is now just searching for a new purpose or a new territory to reign terror.
