This might be considered a really dumb question to ask, but I’m bored, and this is something that’s been making me curious lately.
I remember reading some studies from 2015 that suggested that female sexuality is “fluid”, and that heterosexual women might not actually exist, and these days, it certainly does seem like more and more women are identifying as queer. Plus, despite the growing acceptance of same sex relations, society generally seems to have done a better job of normalizing lesbian relationships, compared to relationships between men.
Anyway, that makes me wonder; is there actually such a thing as a straight woman?

This is a problem that should only concern those with too much spare time on their hands. Everyone else just goes on with their lives.

I'm a heterosexual. I realized in my early 20's that sexuality is not a choice when I couldn't bring myself to have a threesome for my boyfriend at the time. I couldn't "choose" to be into sex with a woman. It just felt unnatural and wrong for me. I imagine gays feel the same way about heterosexual sex.

If female heterosexuality doesn't exist, you're basically saying the man decides a woman's sexuality, and only a male's sexual preference matters.
I do know several women who left relationships with abusive men and became lesbians. And these are women who never considered themselves homosexuals. I don`t think you know how sexuality works.

From what I've seen they're not extinct yet. Far from it. The New World Order may need some more time on this one.

And someday you may actually get do it with a woman. Hang in there. The New World Order may work out for you yet...considering the Old One sure as hell ain’t done you any good. It was never perfect, but the Old One made more sense. And no, the New One is not going to work out for me. It's not going to work out for you either, but that's okay, because you do not believe it.

I don`t think you know how sexuality works. Yes, for women it does work like that. There are many lesbians with children who are divorced from violent husbands who turned them against men.
You asked if female heterosexuality exists and I don't know how sexuality works? I’m the one who asked that. Also, I’m pretty sure a person can’t just alter their sexuality.

I just saw this movie for the first time last week! I really enjoyed it. Wish I hadn't been so stubborn about not wanting to watch it. I just thought the premise of a guy with scissor hands was stupid. But the movie was cute.

I’m the one who asked that. Also, I’m pretty sure a person can’t just alter their sexuality. Sorry. I can only tell you that I know several women who have done it, including my sister. I'm gay myself and most the lesbians I know have children but have sworn off men. Women are just safer.
But you did ask if heterosexual women exist? So why do you disagree with me?
I believe we are all naturally bisexual but experience directs us to either exclusive heterosexuality or exclusive homosexuality or leaves us in the middle as bisexuals.
So, basically, you’re saying that sexuality is a choice?

So, basically, you’re saying that sexuality is a choice? I believe sexual preference is a subconscious choice perhaps. And it's one which takes years to develop and is fluid over our lives. I do not believe it is set in stone at birth. Wouldn’t that technically mean that there are no such things as homosexuals, heterosexuals or asexuals, period?

Wouldn’t that technically mean that there are no such things as homosexuals, heterosexuals or asexuals, period? I'm not sure about that. I've had some longtime suspicions that sexual orientation may be less genetically predetermined for women than it possibly is for men. Although gender preferences that have developed over years of both internal and external conditioning probably is a factor in both male and female, I have a feeling that inherent and largely unalterable gene-based factors play a greater role in determining sexual orientation amongst men. This is hardly set in stone as an opinion, either. As coming from a straight female who's had a number of gay friends and acquaintances over the years, it's just something I've personally observed--I doubt it would hold up to any sort of strict scientific scrutiny as an absolute.
