There aren't many animated films about the elderly compared to those about children and younger adults.
Some I really like and others I didn't care for at all and didn't finish.
Wrinkles is probably my second favorite. It is about an old folk's home where elderly people talk about their past and there's those who still have their wits and a ward where those with dementia live out their final years.
Louise by the Shore is about an old woman who is left in a tourist town which has been abandoned due to a storm. She lives alone except for the company of a dog until the next tourist season.
I didn't care much for When the Wind Blows which while not bad in concept, seeing the gradual succumbing to radiation of an old couple from a nuclear bomb, it was overlong and for me it was frustrating because it didn't offer any other sort of real insight that would have made it more bearable to watch.
Roujin Z is about an old man given a high tech bed who inflicts chaos when he breaks out of confinement. I've tried to get through it once or twice but it didn't interest me at the time. I'll probably try it again soon.
The Triplets of Belleville is about an old woman and her dog who goes on a mission to rescue her biker son who was kidnapped during the Tour de France and crosses an ocean to find him, meeting three elderly woman musicians whose help they enlist in saving him.
What films if any did I miss and how do you all care for the ones you've seen?

I was gonna say Mary and Max, but I guess the guy in that wasn't supposed to be old.

I should have included Up. It has both an old protagonist and an old villain. I didn't care for the film all that much. I didn't relate much to the characters and I didn't like any character designs until the end of the movie with the parents and children at the meeting. I can see why people would like the movie but it wasn't to my taste.

gwRE: UP .... I really REALLY like the love story that extends from childhood to old age and see the actual trip with the dogs and the bird as a second (and not as enjoyable ) movie. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Illusionist and Anomalisa are fairly good choices. They have elderly main characters. I didn't list either because they seem to me, at least, to be focused on things other than age. The Illusionist it's pretty arguable I'll admit, but it's more about changing tastes than the lives of the elderly per se and Anomalisa is based on not being able to see individuality in other people.
