Our air is a little better today. I saw divtal has good air! Thank God! Hat, not so much. Well, ya' take the bitter with the better - as Betty Botter was wont to advise. The orangish glow provides some unique variety, and it's cooler weather to work in. Shawn and I are going to do another full day outside. What does grind my gears a bit is that I was *finally* going to make my summer road trip, just to be not here for a while. But my semi-planned expedition of about a 500-mile circle route passes right through practically all of the major fire areas in southwest and central-west Washington. Oh, well. So it goes.

Our air is a little better today. I saw divtal has good air! Thank God! Hat, not so much. Be safe! Yes, it was good to see "GOOD," as our air quality today. I think that the northwest getting some on-shore flow is responsible for helping to clear our air. But, more important is that it expected to help them with some precipitation.

I hear your pain.
It was indeed surreal scary and spooky.
I have just been diagnosed as an asthmatic so I stayed indoors a lot in air conditioning and got used to my new medications.
After the fires finally cleared, it was an amazing cleanup with dust and embers all over everything and air con filters to be hosed etc.
I wish you all well.

I suppose we should be grateful...
There was a thunderstorm this morning the likes of which we rarely see here in the Portland area - like a cow pissin' on a flat rock. I did some pre-rain prep yesterday but not for this kind of rain. In fact, my recently-cleaned gutters were overflowing like a waterfall, and I found myself scrambling around at 4:00 am to haul stuff inside - not from the rain coming down but from the water washing over the covered patios.
Now there's a major concern about flash flooding and landslides. And new forest fires from the lightning. On top of everything else that's happening.
What's next? A plague of locusts?
As Roseanne Roseannadanna would say, "Well, Jane, it just goes to show you, it's always something β if itβs not one thing, it's another."

My AQI was in the good range! Thank God! I went shopping! Groceries galore! fantastic! great to hear! We received 20 drops of rain! I'm being silly of course but it didn't wet the pavement. But the air is so clean. I went outside breathed deeply and almost cried. It is wonderful! Be careful of flooding! Hat Divtal are you okay?
