I heard fungi have thousands of sexes, are extraordinarily diverse and like to get freaky.

Fungi are really really cool, and some are delicious. They can be a lot like people .. they can look really good but kill you without even batting an eye ! therefor... evolution from fungi is a distinct possibility.

Valuable market, truffles. Once ran a syndicate smuggling them in until my contact Ciccio got nailed to a trawler in the Adriatic.

Unfortunately, ID_Neon doesn't post here, so you can't expect a vitriolic rebuttal.

I'm fascinated by what'll evolve from today.
1.2 billion years from now, will there be flying sharks or 12 foot tall ants roaming about?

I'm fascinated by what'll evolve from today. 1.2 billion years from now, will there be 12 foot tall ants roaming about? No, because of Galileo's Square-Cube Law. This law states that as size changes, volume changes to the cube, while surface area changes to the square. In other words, internal volume changes much more rapidly than external surface area. Ants breathe in oxygen through spiracles which are a series of holes located on the sides of their bodies. The spiracles are connected through a network of tubes which help distribute the oxygen to almost every cell in their body. Therefore, 12 foot tall ants would not have sufficient external surface area to oxygenate their greatly increased volume of blood, and would asphyxiate. They tried to address this limitation in the movie Mimic (1997) by giving their giant insects lungs. That worked just fine until late in the story they show giant winged insects, with wings in the same proportions as normal insects. Again, because of Galileo's Square-Cube Law, normal proportioned wings would have insufficient surface area to support the greatly increased volume of giant insects. Giant wings insects, if they could exist, would have enormous wings that would seem all out of proportion to us.

I believe all "animal" life has evolved from the same single cell organism so we are all related.

I believe all "animal" life has evolved from the same single cell organism so we are all related. Sure, animals. But do I have a distant cousin growing in my garden? Maybe - maybe your distant cousin in the garden will "snatch" your body.
