Instead of the Paul Feig reboot, just imagine if there was an actual Ghostbusters sequel in 2016; a point when nostalgic franchise revivals were at their peak in popularity, thanks to movies like Jurassic World and TFA. I imagine that movie could’ve gotten a lot of people excited.
I know we’re getting Ghostbusters: Afterlife next year (which was supposed to have come out last July), but I can’t help but feel that the ship has sailed on a Ghostbusters revival. Movie theaters are on shaky grounds and if you ask me, movie franchises won’t be what they used to be, in terms of success.

From what I've read about Aykroyd's ideas for GB3, it probably would've sucked.
