Just finished my audiobook of it...to be honest it hit a point yesterday where i didn't want to stop listening to it and i probably spent way too much time with my earbuds in. What a fantastic read! Basic gist...theres these people who are in a constant war, their society is a caste system with royalty, nobles and commoners...one of these commoners is Tau and he eventually finds himself seeking a great deal of vengeance against several people. He makes some friends...makes some enemies...lives are lost...its all pretty amazing. The swordfight sequences feel particularly well written and I was pleased with how easy it was to follow it move by move. I was also pleased at several characters turning out to be better people than their initial impression. People like Oodwak (sp?) and Hadith were really great side characters. This is apparently book 1 of a 4 part series and book 2 is going to be released in november. If youre a fan of fantasy with fairly brutal fight sequences and a heavy revenge plot then i recommend this one to you.
