If I were him I'd just move on. Honestly, after two years of watching fanboys trash his movie and him as a person it was really joyous watching him take a huge victory lap with the universally praised Knives Out, while those same fanboys that trashed him had to rationalize their thoughts on Rise of Skywalker. He made his Star Wars movie, it's loved by some, hated by some, forgotten by none. He doesn't need Star Wars anymore. Star Wars is in good hands with Favreau and Filoni. Johnson will have a long career of creating fresh original content, meanwhile JJ Abrams will just jump from one property to the next, and continue creating nostalgia pieces.

How many DSW movies will Rian Johnson get to make when it’s time to slot him for it? One or none. And the more time passes the more I'm leaning towards none. Especially since there have been NO updates.

Rian Johnson probably won’t make any new Star Wars content for the foreseeable future, but he doesn’t exactly need it. Knives Out was a pretty big hit that was well received. Rian Johnson works best when he’s working outside the confines of a studio IP like Star Wars.

Rian Johnson doing Star Wars is like letting a rocket scientist work at Burger King. Films like Brick, Looper and Knives Out are better than any Star Wars nonsense.
