Alright folks, now, I'm pretty sure most of us are sick and tired of remakes, but with that being said, what are some films you wouldn't mind being remade and why? Personally, I can name two: 1. Hook(1991)- Now, this film had an interesting premise(What if Peter Pan grew up), a solid cast, and a great score, but it failed(in my opinion) because of a weak script with plot holes(Example: Peter not remembering Neverland despite being there for God knows how many decades). I think a well done remake could do this film's premise justice. 2. Natural Born Killers(1994)- I know this may be an unpopular opinion among some people, but I do not care for Oliver Stone's Natural Born Killers, and I think Tarantino's screenplay was vastly superior to what Oliver Stone did with the movie. I did not like how the film was directed/edited(I found the constant back and forth between Color, Black & White, and Animations rather nauseating), and I also felt that Stone miscast almost everybody. I wouldn't mind seeing a new version that's more faithful to Tarantino's screenplay, and is also directed like a normal film and with the right cast.
Now that I got that out of the way, what films would you not mind being remade?

Tremors and Westworld (as a movie, I know there’s a TV show).

The Running Man, and have it be closer to Stephen King's book than the original.

Tremors and Westworld (as a movie, I know there’s a TV show). Elaborate, please. Tremors has a cool premise, but wastes it with a bad score and some poor acting. It could be a little more Evil Dead-esque imo. Tone up the violence and make it a little more fun as opposed to just funny. Westworld could be a great 3 hour epic that explores the other worlds as well and adds some more action.

Also, as for what are the differences between Stone's film and Tarantino's script, here's a coupe: In the film, Mickey and Mallory are the main characters, but in Tarantino's script, Wayne Gale is the main character. Also, in Tarantino's script, there is no "I Love Mallory" segment with Rodney Dangerfield.

Why should that be remade, in your opinion?

The Howling (1981) - I liked the concept, but found the execution to be very poor. I wouldn't mind if someone made a second attempt at this one.

Why should that be remade, in your opinion? It's a story that could be treated with nuance & gravitas which could use some 21st century tech love, without being a super known title or franchise to be obsessively compared about. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is another.

I could do without the "I Love Mallory" bit, I never thought it worked that well even in the Stone version.

"Titanic" could have been a good, interesting and moving film. I feel they needed to deemphasize (if not totally get rid of) any romantic elements and cut the running time in two. Also get rid of the obnoxious cgi effects.
I should watch the 50s movie.
