Kind of sad that an 89 year old has to still make a living. But that's nice to hear they were so generous towards him.

It's a nice story with a happy ending, but the fact that he would have needed to work at his age is heartbreaking.
I see greeters at wall-mart who are likely in their 70s and it's just sad and a little disturbing. Of course, there's a chance that they just want to keep busy and be around people. I'd hate to think that they are working so they can buy groceries.

What a nice thing to do for him. He shouldn't have to work at his age unless he does it because he enjoys it
Pretty sure most people don't even live that long

Many older people work just to get out of the house or something to do during the day.

I'm hoping he was just doing the job as something to get out of the house, (but if I recall, he did need help financially). PS: I miss your old avatar. lol

Yeah, every time I see someone that age working at a fast food place or at WalMart I wonder if they are there because they WANT to get out of the house and do something useful and earn a bit spending money in the process, or if they are doing it because if they don’t, they will have to cut down on food and medication.

No, he receives social security. He probably just blows the extra money on drugs and hookers. Are you being serious or are you trying to make a joke?
