Robert Zombie’s follow up to his 2007 remake manages to be an even worse movie. Just having people brutally murdered isn’t automatically scary. Can only take so much screaming and borderline hilarious dream imagery.

I don't even think it's the worst one of the series, but it has a lot working against it. A lot of the decisions Rob made are quite questionable, and that's being extremely generous. I mean it at least tries something new.

"Robert Zombie". Lol.
Did you see the theatrical or the Director's Cut? Because the DC is a halfway decent movie. I say halfway because it still suffers from Bobby Z's usual hellbilly crap. But there's some interesting character work. It's arguably the most believable version of what people would be like if they previously survived a slasher movie.

5/10 Its not that bad but not too good either. The Directors Cut is an improvement.

Rob Zombie was always a poor fit for the Halloween franchise. His white trash approach would’ve been much more appropriate for the Texas Chainsaw series. The attempt to make Michael Myers more angry and “human” was also a poor idea, because it took away from the thing that made him so menacing to begin with.

I haven't seen it, but I didn't much care for its predecessor so I doubt I'll ever bother to sit down and watch it. I dislike Zombie's whole approach to the franchise. Though I will admit that the 2007 movie is at least superior to most of the sequels made after 1989 (H20 being the notable exception to that rule).

Checking.... it was the director’s cut.
