Those are 7 words I never expected to hear. I mean, I somewhat expected a Spider-Man multiverse to happen sooner or later, but absolutely no one likes Jamie Foxx's Electro.

Just like J.K. Simmon's surprise return as an alternate version of J. Jonah Jameson, I'm sure enough to believe that Jamie Foxx will portray a new version of Electro. I'm not sure if the MCU will play around with the multiverse idea, but Amy Pascal is clearly pushing for a Sinister Six film.

I don’t want a multiverse movie. I just want them to focus on following up on the cliffhanger in FFH.

But the difference is people loved JK as JJJ so bringing him back was fan service. No one was begging for more Jamie Foxx as Electro so why not just recast him instead of deliberately confusing things and reminding the audience of a movie they hated? And in the wake of everyone loving Spiderverse and the announcement of Keaton's return as Batman? It can't not be a multiverse setup.

Kevin Feige apparently liked Jamie Foxx as Electro, but he didn't like how he was portrayed in the film. In one of his advisory notes to Amy Pascal, he wrote:

Jamie Foxx could have been a good Tombstone, I wonder if he'll ever be in a Spider-man movie.

Excellent points as always, but there are about 30 Spider-Man villains and at least 6 other working black actors in Hollywood they can choose from without double dipping Jamie Foxx's Electro.

Even assuming this is supposed to be a multiverse thing, it seems crazy to me that they would pull a specific character from the most hated Spider-Man film to use in their movie. I would understand bringing back Andrew Garfield and maybe even Emma Stone, but Jamie Foxx’s Electro?

I'm sure he can do a good job, but I don't like the idea of using the same actors to play the different versions of the same characters in different continuities (and this wouldn't even be the first time they've done it).

Jamie Foxx could have been a good Tombstone, I wonder if he'll ever be in a Spider-man movie. He was in the animated film Into The Spider-Verse released two years ago.

I didn't hate or like Jamie Foxx as Electro. But the idea of a psychotic madman made of electricity hopping through the multiverse hunting down different Spidermen sells itself. I'm also not against actors playing different versions of their characters and to be against it would be a weird gripe anyway.
