Yes, I'm copying Tom. Damn, that's a LOT of World Series wins. You know a team has history when it takes forever just to record their championships.

I like the Padres series for being referenced by Vito in The Sopranos.

The '62 series was very exciting, with the bottom of the 9th of game 7 being one of the classics. Yanks lead 1-0 with 2 outs. Tito Fuentes singles then Willie Mays doubles into the right field corner. It was only a sterling play in the corner by Roger Maris that kept Fuentes from scoring. Now Willie McCovey hits an absolute rocket right at Bobby Richardson, who holds on for the final out. Man, my heart was in my throat!

The 1996 World Series definitely. Not only was it a start of a new dynasty, but it was the Yankees' first World Series win in 18 years. Everybody believed that series belonged to Atlanta and the Braves were considered the "baseball team of the 1990's" at the point. But, we came back in Game 3 and took the championship ourselves - making us an ultimate team.

I'll say 2009 because I generally disliked them before that. Though I could pick 1927.

I'm more of a fan of their World Series losses, but that still meant they won the league.
