Whenever I watch this movie, I feel like Wes Craven, John Carpenter, John Flynn and Walter Hill are co-directing a comic book movie. Director Jonathan Hensleigh has gone on the record saying he was influenced by the 1970s school of technical crime filmmakers. I wish the film had been received better. It seems so different to every other Marvel picture.
He's made few films but I also like Hensleigh's 'Kill The Irishman' (2011) about Danny Greene and the clash between mobsters and dockers in the 1970s in Cleveland, Ohio.

It's rare to hear a sentence you're pretty sure has never been uttered before. I personally haven't seen it, but I liked the 1989 one more than its reputation would suggest.

I am a fan.
I have issues with the movie, but overall it is a lot of fun. I particularly like the fight scene between Frank Castle and the Russian.

Well I think it's definitely better than the 2008 film.

I thought Will Patton was very good, he made the most of his part, John Travolta on the other hand just phoned in his performance.
