Dumb MCU fan ArArArchStanton started a thread title "Who Wins At The BO; Wonder Woman VS. Captain Marvel" on both the MCU board and the DCEU board. ArArArchStanton was expecting a landslide win for Captain Marvel. But that's not happening.
Currently, the MCU thread has 16 votes for Wonder Woman and 16 votes for Captain Marvel while the DCEU thread has 7 votes for Wonder Woman and 6 votes for Captain Marvel. So the majority of people say that Wonder Woman will have a higher box office than Captain Marvel.

Why the fuck would you start a thread about that? Because he's gone insane. Marvel can bring out relatively unknown characters and beat long standing DC characters just from studio recognition and he doesn't like it. More people know who Wonder Woman is than they do Captain Marvel, but DC hasn't gained the general audience's confidence. This is something he'll never get. He only sees it as Wonder Woman is a character created in the 1850s, or something, so she has to make more money at the box office. People know who Dracula is, but they aren't beating down cinema doors to see every movie with Dracula in it. DC is throwing out so many tv spots and trailers (trailer #8 by now?) right now because they are trying to force everyone to want to see this movie.

You still haven't explained how Patty Jenkins is an Oscar winning director yet, DC-Fan...

Thanks for the update DC-Fan. FYI - I didn't vote in either poll. I'm not going to see Wonder Woman. I am going to see Captain Marvel. Have a nice day.

Wonder Woman looks great.
Captain Marvel sounds like a z-list jobber Disney drug out from the bottom of some back-of-the-closet barrel because they aren't allowed to make their paint-by-numbers McMarvel movies about characters people love, namely the X-Men. Oh, wait: she is.

You said Civil War would not make $1billion.
You said Batman V Superman would pass The Avengers' $1.54 billion for highest grossing CBM - didn't even make $1billion.
You said Doctor Strange "A November movie about a character no one knows or cares about" would flop. It made 4x its budget, and is 90% on Rotten Tomatoes. Did Batman v Superman make 4x its budget? Well let's see it cost $250 million to make oh no it didn't make 4x its budget because that would mean it made a billion which it definitely did not do.
Coincidentally Civil War's budget was also $250 million and it made more than 4x that.
How about Joss directing Batgirl? Good or bad? How much will it gross?
Are you jazzed that Wonder Woman is not losing that poll to a character hardly anyone has ever heard of and whose movie hasn't even begun filming yet?

And with Captain Marvel supposedly appearing in Infinity War people will get to know her just like Wonder Woman in BvS. So she isn't coming in cold with her solo movie. But, really, would that even matter when we had movies like Guardians of the Galaxy, Dr. Strange and Ant-man still doing good with people not really knowing them? She's basically Superman with a spider-sense and can shoot beams from her hands. You kinda get the feel of Iron Man but without the suit. And that alone will resonate with people.

Oh, wait: she is. You can say that about any Marvel character, but... All these "low tier" characters that they are using are doing better than the "A list" characters that are in X-men* and DC. I hope Marvel brings out more "Z list" characters and they do better than a Wonder Woman would. *Can we really say that any of the X-men are A-list besides Wolverine and maybe Deadpool? The name X-men is more A list than the individual characters.

As a collective, yes, they are A list. But as individuals can you really say they are A list? If they were, that Storm movie with Halle Berry would have been made. That Gambit movie would have gotten out of the "Gotta get the tone just right" stage of not knowing what to do with him for the past 15 years. Where's the Cyclops and Phoenix movie? Where's the Rogue movie? Where's the Bishop movie? And, by the way, I'm naming characters that has had solo comics (so A list that those comics did not last long). None of these characters can stand alone in a movie because they aren't A list. You can make movies of them because you can with any character, but will they? Are these characters so far up that Fox would take a chance on them?

With both Fox and WB trying to compete heavily with MS, they would be trying to get as many characters out there as possible (especially lower tiered). Fox would be trying to get more "Deadpools" out there. Gambit would have been fast tracked as the next Deadpool. After seeing what Avengers did, they would have made X-men: Apocalypse in a way that any of the characters could have a spin-off movie/series. With how good Arrow is doing on tv we would have had a Green Arrow movie by now. Flash would have already been a movie by now. Shazam would have been a movie by now. Actually, with the type of fun character that Jubilee is, I think she'd be one of the first. Especially with how people responded to X23. They'd just have to make her as acrobatic as she is in the comics. With her backstory of being orphaned and alone, a more upbeat version of Logan would work for her.

And they are in the process of rolling out new characters and new movies apart from the "main" X-releases. I also stand by my strongly held, nigh-religious conviction that Jubilee sucks.

I liked Wonder Woman a lot. Trailer was lit, movie didn't disappoint. Wonder Woman's been in and out of production limbo for years. This thread's obviously old if it's a poll about Wonder Woman's box office that hasn't happened yet but now that it has, I feel proud and elated that it's a financial success that's not half bad.
Wonder Woman was a much needed victory for the DC extended universe. Actress was perfectly cast. She's beautiful. Really beautiful. On top of being amazon tall, and wicked sexy, her mannerisms, smile, and every expression she has dominates the screen. She's like the DC equivalent of Chris Hemsworth in that she's perfectly cast as a Goddess; every inch of her is something to behold. I'd say Chris Hemsworth has some catching up to do and he's no weak looker either. He's also perfectly cast as a Demigod because what else can you do with someone that good looking? Cop? Super soldier? Celebrity within movie? Superhero? Anyways, Wonder Woman seems tailor made for an actress as striking as Gal Gadot and I'm really proud of how well Wonder Woman did. I thought Aries was a little weak at the end but Wonder Woman was bright, exciting, and positive. No reluctant superhero tropes on her part; she knows what she wanted to be and it wasn't drab at all.
Big thumbs up from me for Wonder Woman. A very much needed victory for that movie universe and a definite star making turn for Gal Gadot. Good for them.

Indeed. And I wish the same for Captain Marvel. A win for either DC or Marvel is a win for all.
