Good showing for first half of film. They had me rooting for Dr. Frankenstein and his assistant Hans against the wretched townspeople. Downhill after the hypnotist was introduced. Peter Cushing turned in a top-notch performance, as always, but the story was weak. 6/10

I liked the monster design. If he had to fiddle with a brain I bet it would have to look like a crate with all the stuff he would have to wire up. I liked the mute girl--depressing but fits the story. Hinds' scripts are usually a combination of cruelty and pathos. I didn't mind the hypnotist--since he was motivated by creed while this Frankenstein is less malicious than the one in the Sangster scripted films.
