And if you like the bigger - c7 or c9 - sized bulbs, do you the translucent bulbs better or the opaque bulbs?
I just got my first pay check and I bought 2 metallic trees, one of them is turquoise and the other is a sort of tan-gold. They are both three feet tall and I intend to have fun doing up the room! For the turquoise tree, I'm going to have pink lights and yellow-gold lights. And for the tan-golden tree, I am going to use pink light and teal lights. No gay-lite here!
I just wanted some feedback on what your guys' preferences are regarding this somewhat frivolous decorator's choice. Colors and sizes, in particular. And if you have any of your ideas regarding christmas trees and lights and decorations, I'd welcome them. I got my two metallic trees for 26 dollars total! Thanks!

I like as many small lights as possible but I hate how the default setting is usually flashing.

I never thought about this much until I spent a few holidays in Europe. They tend to use tiny, clear bulbs and I think it's a classy look. Now our big, colored bulbs seem too clownish to me.

dirtypillows That sounds so pretty! I have a small artificial green tree that's 4 1/2 feet. It came with little multicolored LED lights

I like them both. I don't own any big ones though.

I like the tiny white lights, hopefully with the option to make them twinkle, or not.

For me, I find them to be harsh on the eyes. But multi-colored is always nice and the 4 1/2 foot in height is ideal. I never did care for those tall Christmas trees that gave you nosebleed!

My neighbours when I was a kid had a glittery turquoise Xmas tree and I loved it. I'd say if you dress it up with old school different coloured bulbs and silver tinsel as well as pink and red tinsel, this could look real nice Mr. Dirty. Don't forget a big gay silver star on top..... ![](https://s26.postimg.cc/fmnlwtimx/colorful.gif) I hasn't really thought about using different colored bulbs, but it would give it a nice old-fashioned feel to it. I can't abide the color red, but pink tinsel could have a lovely effect. And I am already in the market for a big, glitzy silver star for the top!

I like the LED. When they stop working I just use a string of regular lights that we have I like a smaller tree too. Much easier to decorate and I think they look better too

I really have no preference to the size of the bulb. But they have to be a multicolored display. I dislike same colored displays especially all white bulbs. It just isnt festive to me. Also I like when they twinkle/flash.

I grew up with the larger lights, but immediately preferred the smaller lights when I first saw them. I also prefer a steady light, over "twinkles." My brain is working hard to envision the color schemes that you're working with, Pillows. But, that's OK ... it needs the exercise. Think about posting a pic, when you have it all set up. I like your approach to the decor and color. It's like my feeling about wearing Covid masks. I ordered a variety of colors, to compliment some of my clothes. Have fun with it!

As someone who used to work in our family hardware store, the idea of lights used to scare my poor hands. Mainly because before the invention of pre lit trees-I used to be the one stringing, looping, tying the lights to the trees for customers to take home their pre-lit trees. My hands were raw by the time Christmas actually came along. But now I think lights, lights, & more lights of any shape, material, color. Though the C9's like to shatter-so they're a bit messy. BTW my brother just threw out a pre-lit by me tree he had for 30 years. The lights finally went after moving for the 10th time. I should have been hired by Christmas Time Company..... Dirty pillows-my sister in law is a Christmas fanatic & has over 30 tubs of Christmas-all labeled & noted so she knows precisely what is in each one. She changes her 10 trees every year according to theme. Yes, she has mini ones in each bathroom. So if you have one kind this year, you can change it to the other kind next ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

The smaller white LED ones - my tree is prelit with them. Yeah, I have an artificial tree.
