NO MATTER how many times I "agree" with the panel, the "We value your privacy" banner keeps appearing EVERYTIME I check a sub-forum or a thread.
How can I get rid of it?

How can I get rid of it? Sounds like a cookie issue. Check to make sure your browser or a third-party app isn't blocking or removing it.

There may be something else going on. Yesterday evening I kept getting a repeated switchover from this site to a page for some anti-virus protection crap. When I would hit the back button I'd return to here, but a few minutes later the same page would come back and bump me from the site. Never had anything exactly like that happen before (and so far it hasn't happened this morning), but it was quite odd and a little alarming.

The same thing happened to me yesterday but with a notice that my Flash Player needed updating (Adobe has abandoned Flash and it is unusable on Chrome, anyway). Click back, wait 30 seconds, and here it comes again. I shut down the computer and restarted after about 5 min. hoping that was the cure (turn it off and back on almost never fails). Well, after about 15 min into my next session, it popped up once but after that never returned. I was on this forum at the time but didn't, until now, connect it with this particular site. Thanks for that insight. I hope Tech with check it out.

I tried the reboot too, with no success at the time, but maybe the glitch has resolved itself. I'll keep you posted if it should occur again and I can find any answers from more tech-savvy friends as to what might be up with this. Invasive stealth ads ain't my cup of tea, lol.

It's not ProBoards' cup of tea, either. They have a very strict ad policy and are quick to squash the ones that slip through the cracks. As it is, redirects are automatically reported as they occur.

Good to know. As I said, no repeat instances of it at this point, but I'll raise the red flag if it does.
