You'd work for the Canadian government, you'd be covered, yes? You'd graduate in a couple years, borders might be open.

the entirety of my tuition and materials is covered by grants, at least for now. And if I get approved for disability funding I’ll get my living costs covered too. I still work too. Don't think of free money as money that you can just blow away with no consequences. It's still a loss if it's not put in the right direction. What're you gonna put for the disability?

Until SHTF happens I'm confident that you and your man will do okay. And after it happens, everyone else's degree will be useless too, so why fret over it? A little while back I told one of my nephews that I think of prayer like chicken soup. Even if it doesn't help, it can't hurt. He told me he feels the same way about a college degree. No matter what kind of degree you've got, anywhere you go you're still going to get on-the-job training.
