I wear a cobbler apron at home, I'm a little piggy and have ruined many t-shirts with spills. I love cobbler aprons, I ordered them from Amazon. They have 2 big pockets that I can put my phone, reading glasses and a book, they are also very washable. I always seem to get food on myself whenever I cook or eat.

Rarely, but it depends on circumstances.
If I have guests, and "social graces" suggest that I not wear a Tee shirt that dates back to the Vietnam war protests, I protect the frock.
Last weekend, I made a large batch of Bolognese sauce. By its nature, it spits oily tomato. For much of that process, I wear a plasticized apron that has the map of the London Underground on it.

I got mine from Amazon.

I bought one of these chefs jackets in heavy cotton canvas many years ago. They are perfect.

How about these, M? I don't have that particular lobster mitt, but I do have many others. When I was visiting a friend in Oregon, we went to a store that all kinds of fun kitchen-oriented things. I found three mitts that had lovely designs ... one was grapes, but I can't recall the other two. One side was design, and the other was that silver-colored heat guard material. Stupid, Divtal! When I got home and began to use one, I realized that they were not made with "lefties" in mind. The design was on the palm side, and the insulation was on the back. DUH! It's not like I haven't been left handed, for all the decades of my life. I still liked the designs, so I hung them on the wall. I gave them to the Good Will, sometime later.

No, I wear an older shirt at home. Before I start I have my cloths handy. Not a fashion show for myself... but a woman can look sexy in a good apron, regardless cooking.
