Would fans in Pittsburgh, Seattle, Kansas City like to have what Billy Beane has done for Oakland? I'm not sure there's a worse situation for any North American sports franchise that the Athletics. Playing in a shit stadium, with cheapskate owners and playig the ugly stepsister to the Giants, Beane has still managed to make the Athletics relevant. Yeah, no titles, but, without Beane, I think the A's would have moved or gone bankrupt long ago.
And there's something to be said for trading young players before the big bucks roll in (not just from free agency but arbitration too). Maximum value. What would the Red Sox have got for Andrew Ben in 10D last year? What would they get this year?

Brad Pitt inspired me.
I actually welled up with tears in my eyes in the theater.
Tremendous movie
Hey - if you can cry over Eddie Van Halen I can cry over a baseball movie.

The contributions made to the world by Billy Beane are a speck of bacteria on a flea’s dick compared to EVH’s contributions. Literally every band you like that started in the 80s was shaped to varying degrees by his Influence.

Moneyball is one of the greatest movies of All-Time You were an inspiration Mr. Beane Nah. It was OKish. Certainly doesn’t merit a second viewing imo. I think a lot of people can relate it to everyday life no matter what industry you work in.
People may not believe in you.
Call you crazy.
Inside you may start to feel anxious and doubt yourself and question yourself if you are doing the right thing.
Fear of losing everything - trying to get your team/coworkers behind you
The past thoughts of failure - the uncertainty of the future.
Great movie - not just about baseball but life in general
Thought Pitt and Jonah Hill were tremendous.
Criminally underrated.

But can you say that the real life Beane was a success? He did ok but I don’t see any rings on his finger.

I believe anybody that managed to stick around as a GM for 18 years or so has be a success
I also think he won Exec of the Year in the MLB on multiple occasions

Beane is easily the most overrated executive in any sport.

Were Barkley and Marino successful Zero rings for them too. When Barkley was on the Dream Team there were players with rings and players without. He’s not in the same conversation as the others because of that. NFL rosters are too large to pin it on any one player such as Marino. But Beane as a GM put together the team, therefore, zero rings, failure.

Barkley is arguably the greatest Power Forward of all-time
I'd label them successful

Right, but ultimately Beane is not.
