That girl with the big hooters. Are you talking about Sandy, the red-headed waitress at the diner? She was one of my favorite characters, too. She should have been given another scene Was she not in the second film also? Coulda swore i remembered her from the bar scene.

One of the big problems I've found with the whole franchise is that I've never particularly liked any of the characters. Crispin Glover's was OK but only for the dancing. I actually like the characters in these type of movies. I may be in the minority in that I don't really enjoy the movies for the gory kills, but rather for the fun, one dimensional characters and the atmosphere.

I said that partly in jest because there are several but the one I always think of first is Debi Sue Voorhees.

One of the big problems I've found with the whole franchise is that I've never particularly liked any of the characters. Crispin Glover's was OK but only for the dancing. Most of the characters in these kind of slasher films are jerks, and that way it sort of lessens the impact of them dying in gruesome ways. Even the jerks though in these Friday films can have some likeable personalities. More tongue in cheek as the series progressed. I think the characters started getting unpleasant in the fourth one. The third one has some of my favorite characters from the entire series. It had super kind and pretty Vera. She has got to be my favorite character out of all the series. And I really liked Shelly, too. I also like Chili and Chuck. Chili makes me laugh. I like it when they go looking for "butterball" Shelly and sneak into the barn like they were on the Scooby Doo show. Andy is very cute and Rick is hot. The pregnant girl is nice. Kinda boring. I don't remember her name. Final girl Chris is the only character I don't care for. The Miss Priss vibe Dana Kimmel puts out there just seems all wrong for this kind of movie. Laurie Strode may have been virginal, but at least she thought about things like that! The fourth one had a cast of characters that were mostly jerks. I did like the kind mom and Corey Feldman was a cute kid plus extremely resourceful. The final girl was so-so, but better than Chris. My favorite character was probably the hitchhiker eating a banana. At least she makes me laugh. The bubblegum twins annoyed me. And Lawrence Monoson was obnoxious. The fifth one had no likable characters that I can remember. Though Ethel was a total and quotable hoot!

Well, she's not exactly Sweet Petite. It must've been her gravelly voice, but she most certainly wasn't the epitome of femininity. Sandy just tickles me. She's friendly.

Oh, yeah. From the 5th one. She had big ole titties. I love part 5 and after having recently watched Parts 3, 4, 5 & 6, I have decided that I also love part 3. I like them all in fact except that cruddy Part 8 and the terrible Jason Goes To Hell. Part 8 was just lame and 9 was vile.

I agree with you on the 4th one, though I think Rob The Jason Hunter and Tommy make up for it and I quite liked Sarah, the shy awkward girl who managed to get it on with the hot dude. Part 3 definitely had much more interesting and fun characterizations and something that I feel Part 5 had as well, though it went more into parody mode. Many of these characters were mentally disturbed too in this instalment. When was the last time you watched Part 5 Mr. Dirty? I probably watched part 5 a couple months ago. I just thought the characters were goofy and not all that interesting. Except for the aforementioned Ethel. I own parts 1-5, 7 and 8. I just have never gotten into part 6 for some reason. It just doesn't register with me. Part 8 isn't terrible. It just doesn't feel like a "Friday" movie. It's pretty boring.

I just have never gotten into part 6 for some reason. It just doesn't register with me. Part 8 isn't terrible. It just doesn't feel like a "Friday" movie. It's pretty boring. 6 used to be my favourite of the sequels. I loved the stylized look and atmosphere. Yes, 5 is sorta goofy, but a whole lot of fun and I love the unique personalities of the characters. I think Part 5 also boasts one of the best extended climaxes in the series. I found it quite exciting and thrilling and I also like the opening dream sequence of Tommy's. It was creepily done. Do you feel because it isn't really Jason doing the killing that takes something away from it? I know that a lot of fans dismiss this one because of this reason. Honestly it never bothered me. I think the overall tone changes with the fifth movie. The first two (my two favorites) feel similar and have the low-budget feel and the kids seem particularly isolated in these two. Also, the kills were not so elaborate. I think they were more direct and simple. The third one just had to be a step up in self-awareness with that super goofy disco inspired theme at the beginning. It had my favorite set of characters and it's my next favorite. The fourth one I think is really dark and nasty. Of course, it's effective. Then the tongue in cheek quality which you cited earlier takes off in number five. I sort of lump 5-7 together, with "The New Blood" being my favorite of the three. Giving the final girl (appealing and plucky Lar Park Lincoln) telekinetic powers was kinda nifty and it has, I think, the best looking guy in the whole series (Nick). Did you know that the guy who directed part 5 also directed "Savage Streets" with Linda Blair? I had no idea. I just now saw that. Good movie, btw. Actually I'm pretty sure you're the one who recommended it to me.
