I do find it odd that red white & blue are used in the three major Western nations' flags: The U.S., the U.K. and France. You would think because of historical rivalries during colonialism they would have differentiated. Americans think we own red white & blue. Lol. The UK's flag is a superimposed version of England, Scotland and Ireland. Tricolors are easy to see at a distance if they're at sea. Red is typical since it means blood shed by patriots.
