Made a trip to Washington DC to see her Tony winning performance as Madame Arcati in Blithe Spirits. She had played it on Broadway, taken it on a national tour and then took it to London. She was spectacular and the production was top notch, young performers who understood drawing room comedy and Noel Coward, and nailed every laugh.

She was spectacular and the production was top notch, young performers who understood drawing room comedy and Noel Coward, and nailed every laugh. She toured with that company, and I saw her in San Francisco. She had announced that it would be her last tour. It was such a joy to be part of that standing ovation! Happy Birthday, indeed!

Wonderful, wonderful actress, always a joy to watch. What a career, what a life, what a lady. One of our finest actresses on the stage, screen, and television. I had the good fortune to see her in Sweeney Todd on Broadway, then later meet her in Hollywood and be able to share with her my love of The Dark at the Top of the Stairs and her small but wonderful role in it (one of her personal favorites). Wishing you a very happy Birthday, Dame Lansbury. Thanks for all the joy you've brought to the world through your exceptional and enduring talent.
