Maybe this has already been discussed here, but I just learned this was released this past Summer. Looks like it has an extra 33 minutes. Has anyone seen it? If so, what did you think?

I didn't know it existed. With all the hoopla for the 3 hour cut of Doctor Sleep, it's insulting that a 3 hour cut of a movie that doesn't suck ass slipped under my radar. Gonna have to track it down for the Challenge.

I watched it a week ago. I dont think it ads much. Most of it is stuff that we already know, but there is more of it. There is this one new scene that a lot of people seem to like. For me its too soon after a certain other scene that it falls a bit flat and messes with the pacing a bit.
But, if you are going for a rewatch, watch the DC and maybe you love it more. For me its the case with the DC of Doctor Sleep. Most of the films I have watched this month have been 90 minutes, but some of them felt like a lifetime to watch. The 3 hour directors cuts from Midsommar and Doctor Sleep, no notion of time watching them.

I just did. Didn't notice huge differences, except a bit more dialogue. There's a scene I think is new where they're about to toss a child into a lake as part of a ceremony, then Dani and Christian have an argument.
I think the Theatrical is fine as it is. This is probably equally fine, unless you're bothered by the runtime.

It stood out to me that there was some group scene set at night. Most of the most intense stuff takes place in sun bleached daylight. It seemed a little out of place. I'd definitely like to see it in full, I think the theatrical cut is about as good as anything in recent memory, so I'd like to see more, but last I'd seem it was only available on Apple TV plus and there's no way I'm subscribing.

That's probably the scene I'm talking about, which occurs at night. Did take me aback. It's also available on physical media, for about $60 (in region A, at least). Some users will be mad at me, but I went the third route.

I only have the cut version on bluray. Someone mentioned the DC is only on Apple/Itunes?
I guess if it ever came on Blu I might consider upgrading for a decent price. π€
Hoping it might flesh out why those two knuckleheads would fight over a damn thesis in the midst of all this weirdo stuff going on.
