Oh, yeah. My family and I watched the hell out of CHips. The episode in which H.R. Pufnstuf appeared was a standout. Pure 70's gold! I don’t recall that one. The first few seasons were the best for me and while I was obsessed with the show and my whole world revolved around it, like many things, it started to lose its novelty and dropped away. It's corny fun to watch nowadays. Watching the differences in tone between CHiPs and the hyper-grim cop dramas of today is instructive all on its own. Just saw the two-parter with flash-in-the-pan teenybopper idol Leif Garrett, who plays an overworked teenybopper idol being pushed too hard by his manager. The manager was played by Bill Daily, who actually did a very creditable dramatic turn in the part. Silly clean fun, which was capped by one of those 'star-studded' finales the show sometimes engaged in under the pretext of one of those innumerable CHP benefit shows Ponch was always organizing .

I don't remember Police Story that much, but Police Woman was a good show. More than Angie Dickinson being hot, it was pretty groundbreaking for it's time. Police Story was like an anthology I think. Police Woman started on Police Story--but Earl Holliman was not in it--Bert Convy was the handler. I want to check out more episodes--one with Darren McGavin.
Police Story gets my vote as the best cop show of the 70s. It was an anthology series for sure. Shout! Factory released seasons 1 to 3 on DVD; whether or not they put out the remaining seasons remains to be seen.

I'm betting the 2017 film is also going to ruin the series. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CHiPs_(film)#Plot

A lot of them are horrible though.

Too temperamental and rigid. I could never decided which one I liked the best, Ponch or Jon. I loved them both. They made good kid role models, both of them. Each had their own style, and neither was so bland that they didn't project a recognizable personality.

I don't even remember the replacement! I must have tuned out when Larry Wilcox left. I did notice his name in the Ray Bradbury credits. Speaking of tv shows to film, it was funny to recognize Robert Pine in the Munsters feature film.

CHiPs I didn't get to watch many, as we didn't have a t.v. but CHiPs I managed to see at friends and loved it. Kid friendly too. Yeah. One of the first birthday presents I actually remember opening up was a CHiPs vehicle set. Found it. I got a matchbox like vehicle set too but all the pics of it are on pinterest. I actually played with the helicopter the most. ah well. I can't post the one I found of the bigger vehicles either. The set was made by BUDDY-L. I watch it sometimes on over the air channel CHARGE

Barney Miller was my favorite. Caught a few episodes on MeTV awhile back and it 100% holds up. Columbo is a very close 2nd. We also watched Starsky & Hutch, CHiPs, Kojack, H50, The Streets of San Francisco, McCloud, Serpico, probably others.
In detective shows, Rockford Files, no contest and one of my all-time favorite TV shows. I rewatched it about 10 years ago and it was just as good. Also was a big fan of Charlie's Angels
