Any good ones out there? Found a steal and found 'Arliss' - an old HBO show out there about a sports agent which has some great cameos in it from sports stars. Racking my brain to find some other ones. Any recs?

Have you watched Friday Night Lights? nope. know what's amazing? i've never seen the movie either or other 'so-called' classic football movies like Remember the Titans or Every Other Sunday and I love Pacino - and i consider myself a movie buff and sports fan. for some reason - i've yet to gravitate to another 'football movie' - unless it's 'Rudy' (ok - cue the board throwing eggs at me and then tying me up and tarring and feathering me). Rudy was just always my classic 'go to' football movie. kind of feels like you're cheating on someone like 'The Natural' and baseball to me - i just don't think a baseball movie could be done better......

You won't get any Rudy flack from me. I loved it and Samwise Gamgee was great. Expand your horizions, give Friday Night Lights a try.

The recently canceled TV show 'Pitch' (FOX); Revolves around the first female MLB pitcher for the San Diego Padres and a veteran catcher with a compelling childhood (or lack there of) back story played by an unrecognizable Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zach from 'Saved by the Bell') sporting a full beard. The show was excellent and very interesting but suffered low ratings. Only 1 season of 10 episodes were aired. Pitch (TV Series (2016– )

No but I would've like to see Kelly and Jessie as a pair of milf groupies.

Everybody Loves Raymond Ray was a sports writer with lots of cameos. Awesome. Guess we can go 'Cheers'. Sam Malone was a BoSox baseball pitcher and Eddie Lebeque was a Bruins goalie and it had a 'lot of cameos'.

Interesting - it doesn't seem a format that works in TV.
I wouldn't mind a comedy revolving around a league 2 footie team or conferance team getting up to mischief - or even a better side from the 70's , drinking and getting up to mischief etc.
Or how about a ashes to ashes/life on mars styled show based on a really fit, professional man u(or equivelent) player being forced back in time into a team from the 70's which would show the differences of the eras..
