Sports Reporters did their last show his Sunday - now that was an epic show that did like 28 years or something. i'm sure in all of our local sports cities for your favorite teams there's the same formula but maybe they do local sports - 4 guys/gals talking about the weeks sports headlines.........mike lupica was a worm - but that's what i love - he was enjoyable - same goes for bob ryan - boston writer - but i love an outsiders perspective .............ugly story about 'Bill Conlin' who used to appear on there for years if anybody from Philly knows who I'm talking about ol' Bill who was a philly writer for the local paper for years ....well....ummmm....i'll let you google it

Sports Reporters! wow. that used to be a pretty solid show. yeah - Schapp Jr. took any credibility out of it.... although that cat did do a good piece about the demented chess player that went into hiding that was considered a legend and they made a movie about it - Jimbo Fischer or something.........

Intelligent discussion without the yelling and contrived arguments. Journalists, not personalities. Sad that we lost John Saunders and then the show itself soon after. Made sure to catch the final show.

I'm hearing Bettis, Jaworski, and Hoge are out. just as long as the super talented duo of Jemelle Hill and Michael Smith are around at 6pm to give me my SportsCenter I finally watched some of that the other day. What a steaming puddle of liquefied shit.

Made sure to catch the final show. Agreed, it was a great show. I had no idea it was ending, I would have made sure to catch the final episode. RIP civil, intelligent sports conversation on television.

Made sure to catch the final show. philly did an epic take off on it called 'the great sports debate' based on philly sports. then the local comcast station around here did a 'daily news live' (local newspaper) with 4 panelists sitting around - like you stated - intelligent discussion - journalists. i'm one or the other. i tune into both to be honest. i love/miss these shows - but to call a spade a spade it's a money and ratings grab and if networks can roll out a Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless who are not only entertaining in their own right if that's your cup of tea - but also know about sports - i really don't blame them. i'll take the old school 'Sports Reporters' formula for a half hour any day of the week though. the smiths, baylesses, cowherds of the world - although im a fan - they're like 2 -3 hour daily shows and they've got to factor in some entertainment to keep the casual everyday viewer coming back

Jaworski is excellent at what he does. He's on Philly sports radio here frequently and few people can break down game film like he can. If he truly is being let go I will miss him. I didn't even know Bettis was on ESPN, which is a good thing because generally if I know you're on ESPN, then with a couple of exceptions you probably suck.
ESPN is like a great big hot apple pie, except instead of apples it's filled with maggot infested horse shit.

Fuck ESPN. They can all choke on their own vomit for all I care. This is what happens when you inject politics into everything.

I don't even care about the politics. I mean I do, but not a huge amount. I just don't like ESPN because they suck now. They're like Saturday Night Live - they had a decent cast 15 years ago and now they're barely relevant. Speaking of which, SNL should thank Jesus, Allah, Buddha and Superman for the blessing that is Donald Trump.

I like Jaws. Not for MNF, but breaking down film...he's the best they have.

But we all know it's not the right doing it, its the left. Curt Schilling gets fired for saying people should use the bathroom based on GASP! what genitalia they have. Meanwhile, idiots like Jemele Hill, and Screamin A Smith are allowed to race bait on a constant basis.

Stephen A. Smith thinks that people dislike him, not because he's loud...but because he's African American and loud. While I can't speak for others, I can safely say that's not true in my case. I'm MORE sick of Dick Vitale (for example) than SAS. Granted, I'm tired of both of them...but Vitale has been around longer and his schtick is old.
The thing with Stephen A. is that they put him, Max, Skip, etc. on these shows and segments where they are basically insult comics who talk about sports. Just talk about sports...I don't need people to play characters. In a sense, that's why I don't watch Sportscenter anymore. Because everyone is trying to be a comedian all time time. It was fine in the 90's when Kilborn or Patrick would throw in an occasional quip during a highlight. But now it has turned into SNL.
