I think most people would have Loves "Forever Changes" at No.1 in any list although I prefer "Piper". But what about Spirit's "Dr.Sardonicus", early Moody Blues "lost Chord"? "Magical Mystery Tour probably had The Beatles finest Psych moments. Hendrix, Jefferson, Doors, Elevators, even the Monkeys have to be up near the top too. From the modern era, "Bevis Frond", Nic Saloman has ploughed a lonely but wonderful furrow for years.

So many to choose from. If I was looking just for psychedelia I wouldn't have Sgt Peppers in the list. it is an icon, with so many songs and the concept which changed the direction of pop music, but individual songs (except for A Day in the Life) don't rate like (for example) Revolver. Piper at the Gates of Dawn or my favourite, Floyds second, Saucerful of Secrets which didn't have as much input from Sid Barrett. Moody Blues would be up there, but crossing the pond, Jefferson Airplanes hilariously anarchic After Bathing at Baxters is very much on my list.

Back in the late '60s I owned a couple of record albums (flat platters with a hole in the middle) by Vanilla Fudge. They had more than a few good psychedelic moments.
