1. Because no one in their right mind is going to retroactively apply a 2006 rule change to prior seasons and then try to declare them null and void. 2. Because you'd be hard pressed to find anyone (excluding butt-hurt trolls) these days who doesn't think Deflategate was a ridiculous witch-hunt. There's no point it trotting out your failed arguments again, cupcake. Whether you like it or not, Brady is being celebrated as the greatest QB. That's a fact you're just going to have to choke on. 1. They don't have to retroactively apply the rule because the rule was always in place.
2. There are at least 2 judges on the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals who don't think DeflateGate was a witch-hunt.
Whether you like it or not, Brady was found guilty of cheating by the NFL, a verdict that was affirmed by the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals. So Brady has been officially labeled a cheater and fraud by the league that he plays for. That's a fact you're just going to have to choke on.
You asked ... so I told you why your little cheating accusations have had no effect on Tom Brady being hailed, throughout the country, as the greatest QB ever. If you don't like my answer then why don't you tell us why Spygate and Deflategate have had little/no effect on TB's accession to GOAT-hood. You can't deny that he is being hailed, throughout the country, as the greatest QB ever ... unless you've been living under a rock for the last few months.

My answer was "relevant" enough for you to respond to it, point by point. What's the matter? I turn the screws a little and suddenly you can't see the relevancy? You really need to grow a spine, cupcake.
We know your tactic of last resort is to simply deny reality. Tom Brady wasn't hailed by every sports outlet in the country as the greatest QB ever, after that spectacular victory in Super Bowl 51 ... and Batman v Superman didn't win a bunch of Razzie Awards, cementing it's place as one of the worst movies of 2016.
I've got news for you, sport. You had a hard time coping with the disappointments of 2016? 2017 is going to be more of the same.

Yay. I wouldn't actually have any rules about PED or other drug use if I were in charge of any of the sports leagues. I'd have fewer and less stringent rules about equipment, too. I'd see that stuff as just other competitive strategy/creativity angles of the sport, angles that can make the game more entertaining to spectators.

Lets say that I am a marathon runner. Not the Michael Jordan of marathon runners, but a pretty good one, say the James Worthy of marathon runners. I've won several, I always finish in the top whatever percentage of participants. The Boston Marathon is coming up and all those ridiculously talented Ethiopians are running in it. I know I can't beat them - I'm good but I'm not that good. So I decide to take this shortcut that will shave a few miles off of the race for me. Because of this I end up winning. Now let me ask you - why should I be celebrated as a great marathon runner who deserves to be in the Hall of Fame when I cheated, just because I was pretty good prior to cheating? The Hall of Fame is for the best of the best, the pinnacle, the elites of your sport. Just because Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens may have been good enough to be elected prior to using PEDs, not getting into the Hall of Fame is the PUNISHMENT for cheating. What is the value of amassing career stats like Bonds and Clemens when they didn't get there on their own? They are worthless cheating losers who don't even deserve to drive near the Hall of Fame. So again I say, fuck Bonds, Clemens, Sosa, Palmeiro, McGwire, and all the other juicers. Re your example, if you allowed shortcuts into the "game"--the marathon in this case, then that becomes part of the game, and the shortcut creativity and strategy are part of the equation from that point on. That might make marathons more entertaining to watch for many people.
