In "The Caine Mutiny" (1954), Captain Queeq (Humphrey Bogart's character) rolls a pair of metal bearing balls in his hand when he gets nervous. What's the diameter of the bearing balls? I need to know.

"But Queeg brought out a couple of bright steel ball bearings the size of marbles, and began rolling them absently between the thumb and fingers of his left hand." - Wouk, "The Caine Mutiny"

Say what you will about Captain Queeg, but no one could say that he didn't have balls.

There was a movie called "The Return of Captain Invincible," and Christopher Lee played the villain, and he does the Queeg thing except that he uses a couple of golf balls. He said he hoped people would get the joke.
