Just to pass the time of day--I was thinking about acting fathers who had acting sons. There have been many, but some you never think of: Robert Keith a very likeable character actor, here playing Susan Hayward's dad in My Foolish Heartwas the father of Brian Keith who played both leading and supporting roles in the movie but may be best know to us from his TV Series Family Affair:
Or the movie, The Parent Trap (1961):Maureen O'Hara and Brian Keith also show up as the leading characters in Sam Peckinpah's first feature film, The Deadly Companions (1961), released in the same year as The Parent Trap. Brian first acted with his father in Pied Piper Malone (1924) when Brian was only 3. Or, did they act together? |

Then there was Alan Ladd who was able to use his son David Ladd in The Proud Rebel (1958). David had a great role in that wonderful movie even though there was no speaking part for him. |

Robert Mitchum and son James playing brothers in "Thunder Road" (1958). Mitch had first wanted Elvis for the brother but he came too high. James Mitchum was much more of a bargain.  |

Don’t think they we together but Andrew McLaughlin , son of Victor McLaughlin directed some John Wayne films.
Walter Huston and John Huston, not sure they appeared on screen together but Walter acted in films John directed

Rance Howard and son Ron both appeared in The Music Man and The Courtship of Eddie's Father. Clint Howard is in the latter as well.
